We never use SAG. We carry all our gear using back packs. They weigh in around 30 pounds carrying tent, sleeping bag and pad, dehydrated food, water filtration, pocket stoves, and so on - things you'd take backpacking. We do 3 - 4 nights on the Tahoe Rim trail and linked up mountain bike trails and fire roads to do Packersaddle to Nevada City. Bikepacking is hard to do in California because of the horse back riding & wilderness rules. We're going to Oregon's North Umpqua trail this Summer.
