@redneckfl1 What's your point? Those cars are not in the same category. You're comparing apples to oranges (1.8 I4 vs. 4.3 V6). The fact that one is old and one is new is irrelevant to the argument that one is faster than the other. And as far as cars go, the Versa is one of the slowest ones available, so your S-10 better blow the doors off of it, otherwise you've got some "splainin to do".
@kris1991 car and driver has is at 9.1 seconds for a cvt nissan versa hatchback. not terrible and at the time was about the fastest automatic car in the segment..
@wolf1010 cvt is similar to porsche's PDK which is an automatic without shift shock and is actually 0.1-0.3 seconds faster 0-60 than the manual version (:

@NorthernShooter 0-60 in 9.1 seconds is not bad for this class of car. i think a base auto accord does it in 8.9 seconds. .2 seconds faster and i think the new subaru legacy did it in 9.0 seconds though i may b quoting different mag times.

Wow. This is Nissan. I was expecting this to be faster by a couple seconds compared to the Yaris. It turns out that Yaris is a couple tenths of a second faster.
Nope tried it, the fit has nothing on the SL model. Maybe the S model, but not the SL. I have the SL sedan and if I out ran a mustang, a Honda Fit can't touch it.

A few modifications here and there, HP is nothing if you have weight the heavier the vehicle the more Hp you need, the only reason a mustang has 300 HP is because its so damn heavy. If you take a lighter vehicle like mine and fine tune it, depending on the modifications I out run a Lamborghini if I wanted.
Outrun.... hate to burst your bubble, but most lambos go 180+ Now unless you put $50000+ into your little 4-6cylinder, then you're not gonna go that fast haha.
I switched out the intake, and put in a bigger fujita, and put a new exhaust system and bigger custom headers. Plus I lightened the car, so I increased the airflow and lightened it. Instead of 122hp it has 205 hp.
Well, to get to that level I would have to add turbos and such. Seeing that my car is an eco-car that wouldn't be worth spending that kind of money. I don't mind spending it on my Honda though, but not the versa. I can keep up with fast luxury cars and I happy with that.
BAHAHAHAHAHAHA you had an 80hp jump from an ebay intake headers and exhaust?? lol how high are you? theres no way of taking on an additional 80hp to the crank let alone the wheels you dumb ass.. and with simple bolt ons max your going to get is an extra 20hp. Ive had a 09' spec-v and the qr25de stock puts 200 at the crank. if you could up that with $500 of bolt on cheap ass parts dont you think that everyone would pick up a versa for $8K cheaper and mod it with some quick handeling mods as well.

Now as for turbos giving better gas mileage, yeah it would if the engine is designed to have a turbo put on it or if it already has one. I have heard that remote turbos increase gas mileage but they don't make those for Nissan Versas. Other wise no it doesn't, also superchargers do for small cars. But they don't make those for Versas either. But it doesn't matter.
@kmac4500 remote mount turbo kits are a rip off. since you dont have to deal with a cramped engine bay, if you know which side of a screwdriver you twist, you can put one together yourself.

I valet park in las vegas, and i've driven many toyota yarii and versas, and i would hands down take the yaris any day over a nissan. the yaris is much more fun, and doesn't feel cheap compaired to the versa; plus you do have toyota's known reliabliity. which your nissan could only dream of. I've never driven a 70k+ mile nissan that didn't feel like a peace of shit clunker. But I have driven plenty of toyotas with 120k+ and they drive like new. and they didn't need to dump money into it
It's like saying, "Have you seen what a semi truck does to a Versa!!!?", same thing will happen. Anyone should know that a car with more mass/big will fair better in a crash against a smaller vehicle.

CVT is good for Fuel Economy.
Cvt is faster than AUTO, not like 2X faster.
For example, if you have 200 hp engine with autotransmission, Just shifting different gear.
With CVT, CVT is just like Snowmobile's transmission.

i have a 08 versa, but it is manual. even with no mods whatsoever, you can still hit 60 in under 9, its the automatic transmission that sucks.

Now as for turbos giving better gas mileage, yeah it would if the engine is designed to have a turbo put on it or if it already has one. I have heard that remote turbos increase gas mileage but they don't make those for Nissan Versas. Other wise no it doesn't, also superchargers do for small cars. But they don't make those for Versas either. But it doesn't matter.

@kmac4500 remote mount turbo kits are a rip off. since you dont have to deal with a cramped engine bay, if you know which side of a screwdriver you twist, you can put one together yourself.

I valet park in las vegas, and i've driven many toyota yarii and versas, and i would hands down take the yaris any day over a nissan. the yaris is much more fun, and doesn't feel cheap compaired to the versa; plus you do have toyota's known reliabliity. which your nissan could only dream of. I've never driven a 70k+ mile nissan that didn't feel like a peace of shit clunker. But I have driven plenty of toyotas with 120k+ and they drive like new. and they didn't need to dump money into it
