They are just off the Pan American Highway South of Chemaltenago, Guatemala. I have been in Guatemala both in January and in July and the temps were comparably the same where we were staying on top of the mountain all the time.

ok...i do like your video and how you presented things but a major complain... sorry to say it but for most it is... please never put mexican music when you are talking about guatemala.. as i said sorry to say it but it's a great offense to guatemalans to be called Mexicans or even be put with their music.. so next time use more either pop or find guatemalan music..!! just a tip

Now in 2006, robberies are less frequent in that region (than in 2004), but for foreigners it is usually better (though not risk free) to hike with tour guides and/or locals. A question: which software did you use to edit the video and mix the sounds?

However you should probably more careful. Guatemala just maybe the most beautifull country in the world but it is not the safest.
So please everyone reading this: do NOT hitchhike and do NOT climb volcanoes alone. This is very dangerous.
