Porcupine Tree is the best that was in the last 27 years of progressive music. I just know it and I am convinced of the amazing musicianship of this band. Valter - Brazil
I agree with the person who posted this video, I also think this version is better than the original version and that's because mostly of Gavin Harrison playing the drums on this live version. The original version had Chris Maitland playing the drums who also is an excellent drummer but just not as good Gavin Harrison!
Gavin Harrison to me is in the top 3 all around drummers playing music today!
@lkeslinke Gavin seems more bold with his drumming, in that he'll do these crazy fills and beats (polyrhythms so hard that it sounds like he's changing the time signature!), while the older drummer seems to have reserved much of the big cool, flashy stuff.
And same! Gavin is definitely one of my favorite drummers
I think the very end of the live song isn't as good as in studio. That's such a freakin' blowing part! They didn't played it that blowing live. Maybe it's not possible, the drumwork on the original is so brilliant! (maybe more than one drumset?)
This is better than the original. Like the "Last Chance To Evacuate Planet Earth Before It Is Recycled" XMII version. Awesome song. And if you can see Gavin's drumming can change completely the songs.
