Huh, looks like what I was doing with my wife's Forester only minutes after putting the Blizzaks back on the day of our first big WI snow storm this year. It was fun. Then she asked about all the snow packed in the wheels. She knew.
I live upstate PA in the snow belt. Seems everyone has a subaru up here. My wifes outback always gets her home, no matter how much snow or mud we have! Maybe need to get her a VW or something. LOL
haha a good thing to remember when drifting in snow is to have your wipers on full speed! vision is always a good thing!!
also, when you're trying to drift in deep snow, try using a very high gear like 2nd (if it's a standard) i find that with the rpms up high while in 2nd i can whip my outback around however i like!
I have a 97 Outback with the winter package. It is the perfect car for my snowy Colorado home. I just can't get over how much I like the sound of the Subaru engines. Not too rumbly, not too buzzy, but just the right sound.
i also have an h6. have you had any head gasket issues? i haven't heard of any stories of the h6's having them, and i haven't had any. i'm just doing some research...
My 2000 jetta just broke down on me today and am seriously thinking of getting a Subaru Outback. Can you tell me how happy you are with your car so far?
I have a 96 Legacy wagon. It's a sports sedan on a twisty road, a tank in the snow, a small midsize car at the gas pump and a Rolex in reliability. With the exception of head gasket problems in late-1990s 2.5L engines, you can't really go wrong in any way with an Outback.
I too share your dream this winter. And during summer, the convenient fuse emplacement for 2WD (only on automatic transmission) makes it easy to peel out!
I own a toyota camry and hell I would have been easily stuck in the snow. Just a reference to say that these cars definately have snow going capabilities. I love it. They should do soemthing like this on a real toyota commercial to actual show how good their 4x4 are i mean look its basically a car but ya threw a snowback. mmmmm and wow

Wow, my old Volvo would have just got stuck and spun on only one wheel. But I'm going to install a differential brake so it will be something.
But a Subaru is on my going to get list as well.

Never had an H6, but Iv had severe issues with my 2.5L at about 117k. Had to get it rebuilt. Subaru's 2.5L 2nd gen is known for this
