  • Sacrificed sons is beautiful.

  • why dream theater (R.I.P 2002) can't be like this?

  • @Sasox RIP 2002? Train of Thought, Octavarium, and the new album are all fantastic!

  • @mbenson182 Maybe Octavarium. The rest hell no. It's hard to find "bad material" from DT? it is, I'm pretty sure.

  • @Sasox Seriously? The material gets heavier and its a bad thing? That's like saying Pantera became horrible when they switched from hair metal to thrash.

  • @mbenson182 and just for that is a good thing? I don't like it, and it's my opinion. Seriosuly, I preffer when Dream Theater take the time to THINK in another album, and not when they just rush that process to be in tour. The reason why Mike Portnoy left the band don't tell you something?

  • yanquis putos

  • amazing musicians

    enough said

  • This is smart people's music

  • This song is amazing!!!! :D

  • Its sad these days that people dont understand good music anymore

  • @kratos2ish Dunno man, they aren't doing anything that we haven't heard before, I wasn't that excited listening to this... listening to Metallica after all these years is one of a tiny number of bands which always evokes a wall of emotion. Now that's music, this is effectively a demonstration of a bunch of people who have mastered their instrument... nothing more. Yawn!!

  • @OriginalAtomicSheep I disagree, check out LTE's song "State of Grace", contains one of JP's most emotional solos.

  • @OriginalAtomicSheep listen to Dream Theater's song Sacrificed Sons, if that song doesn't touch you you have no soul.

  • can everybody please stop saying quotes for the song or something similar about the ppl who click the dislike button "biaxident". Firstly it makes you look like an attention whore and secondly why pay any attention to them. If we're here then lets listen to the awesome song and awesome band rather than waste time on the dislike bitches. Thank you.

  • @doshermn You need to quit being such a f*cking faggot. Thank you.

  • @TheAfterIife why should i not be a "faggot". Why are you hating on me. Are you a hater as well. If so then why the hell are you on this video. All i was doing was saying lets not pay attention to the haters and get on with appreciating the music. And that makes me a fag. Please explain and the thank you at the end is only polite to say after people take the time to read my comment.

  • Jordan Rudess has to be a fan of Final Fantasy saga ;)

  • @IncognitoFloyd i just listened to the final fantasy seven soundtrack after jamming to this song haha

  • -.- can someone help me count this D:

  • This is an excellent composition!

  • @Lucjan47 indeed!

  • 7:42 ruined it for me :(

  • Now that I'm feeling the afterglow, I can state: "An artist should be hungry, not go mainstream."

  • I think I just came. My jeans are ripped apart, the symbols on the screen are nigh-unintelligible, and I'm typing this while being blind, as my eyes roll in the back of my head.

    Now, where's that 'post button'?

  • Guitarist looking for someone to play this song with. Like an Internett Band :P Keyboard, drums and bass =) It will take a while before I'm able to nail it, but I guess it'll take while before anyone respond too =) Send me a message if interested :D

Voted me up if you'd like to help me on my quest :)

  • amazing! really amazing! one of the best instrumentals bands than i hear in my life!. btw the tone of petrucci its amazing... better than the new tone in my opinon

  • Portnoy , Petrucci and Rudess are the shit!

  • @benoitdrums1996 you cant forget good old Tony Levin, he gives Myung a run for his money I think ;) But both bands are sheer awesomeness

  • @Mirage469 Ooops O_o sorry about that !

  • I'm not sure what the time signature is.

  • @allright715 listen for down beats / accented beats.

  • This remember me to Alf

  • 13 persons click the dislike button biaxident

  • 2:03

  • I misclick the dislike button biaxident !!!!!!! SORRY

  • @metalmetal9 lol you stole that comment off the live in la 2008 video

  • Probably the best piano guitar duet since an endless sporadic

  • @chainsawvsgod. You didn't get my point. These guys (LTE) and those like them should be making the money, not the Justin Biebers and Lady Gagas of the world.

  • @cpjackson79

Try stating your point clearly then you fucking idiot.

  • Comment removed

  • @cpjackson79 Maybe they don't care about the money and would rather be doing something they love than worrying about material goods.

  • Listening to this I realize there's no justice in who makes money making music.

  • @cpjackson79

Sorry? What a stupid fucking comment. Would you prefer musicians work for absolute nothing.

  • @ChainsawVsGod lol, intelligence is hard.

  • @GustavMahlerHorn

You cheeky fucking cunt. I'd gut you like a fucking fish little boy. Fucking watch out.

  • @ChainsawVsGod it's okay, it's hard. QQ

  • reminds me of Aries' theme...ahh the nostalgia

  • I've been so unmotivated this morning, but now, while listening to this...Everything's possible!!

  • probobly the best display of instumental music ever

  • probobly the best display of instumental music ever

  • is John tunned in regular tunnig ? i mean like EADGBe

  • @einavi279

    yep

  • @einavi279 yes it is

  • Mi pieza predilecta de Liquid Tension Experiment. Love you Portnoy :D

  • sound like Aerith's Theme <3

  • Is it just me, or does part of this sound like Aerith's Theme from FFVII?

  • @cnel176

    OMG you're right!

    yes it sounds like it!!!

Nobuo Uematsu is the true genius behind LTE!!

    LOL

  • Really reminds me of Symphony X. Great song!!!!!!!

  • i like the part from 0.00 to 7:41

  • @Sn4keDX it's my favourite one too :o

  • i like the part in the song where they play their instruments pretty well

    @6:48

but seriously this to the end is the greatest part of any song ever

  • @ncrams11 I could listen to the end for ever!

  • This song is about John Petrucci suffering from bad migraines and taking the drug biaxin to help him, which they did, but he found out it made him hallucinate strongly, and this song is about him appreciating the bliss it gave him and how ironic it was of him taking this drug he was prescribed, hence the title, Biaxident. (by accident) Source: John petrucci himself

  • not feeling this

  • take elements of every musical style genre roll it into one fat bleezunt of in your face monstrosity u call Liquid Tension!!!!

  • They should have named themselves BAMF... ^^

  • towards 4:00 it sounds a lot like Santana :)

  • @wafflez842 yup petrucci can play any style and he plays it better than santana haha

  • Stellar use of borrowed v chords =) (that's a lower case roman numeral five)

  • love this song

  • If this song was made "By Accident", then let me speak for everyone when this song is the greatest accident ever.

  • @Cynnicio You know.... I've known this song for quite some time.... But I just read it out loud and read "By accident." I feel lame now that it took me so long to get. xD

  • @LCRDKazrai HAHAH i didnt get it until you said this

  • great fuckin song, but definatly not the only reason i like LTE lol

  • This song is the only reason why I like Liquid Tension Experiment XD

  • i likes diz myoozik

  • biaxident = by accident

    mind = blown

  • I think 0:00 to 7:41 is in Awesome/Amazing time signature.

  • haha you trippy bastards, this is glorious music

  • Instead of all this jibber jabber about 5's 10's 15's and 20's...why don't you guys just enjoy the damn music? And really, who gives a shit about man made "labels" such as time signatures? Play music how you feel you want to play it, that is what REAL music is about.

  • @Deetroiter We can enjoy the song while talking about it, right? It just makes it more interesting to note behind-the-scenes stuff, as a musician

  • @Deetroiter Agreed completely! However, it's not really "standard" to use these timesignatures and throw in unusual breaks with a completely different but still obscene time signature. Therefore it's interesting to note these things since it further proves that they clearly don't give a shit about the hype and what "should" be done and simply just play whatever they feel like that sounds great ^_^

  • Dixie Dregs.

  • @ 2:15 to 2:31 I didn't know my ears could cum. For god's sake what a bit there. I know I say it all the time, but that organ there makes it so f**** gorgeous.

  • 1:08-1:25 is 5/8 with some 4/8 i think

  • A great, inspirational and so very original as it always is by Dream Theater and Liquid Tension Experiment.. thx for puttin this up, nothing beats DT and LTE!

  • Best part is between 5:45 and 6:05

  • So fucking beautiful. Each time I listen to this awesome musical piece, I feel happy and persevering in what I begin/undertake. Thanks to LTE!

  • Can someone tell me in which scale is the solo played ?

    I failed to find out.

  • A lot of parts of the song are in 7/8 and 5/8 and I didn't even notice 'til I started learning it on bass. They throw bars of odd time signature wherever they want and you don't notice because the music just... flows...

  • The beginning is similar to DT's "About to Crash"!!!

  • Genesis much?

  • Genesis much?

  • Genesis much?

  • I love the chorus progression :D

  • Biaxident = By accident?

    Mind = Blown.

  • This was on the second album, second track - so why is the first album cover posted up here? Brilliant track - one of my LTE favs.

  • @GibzMeDat: Not everyone in an orchestra needs the notes. But they have often to play songs which they don't like. So why should they lern them? Actually I can play the songs I like and for those I don't like I need the notes. It's that simple. And you will not play in a "good" orchestra when you are not a good musician.

  • the best music!!!

  • @DarkArtist: I strongly disagree, while I do not hear the 5/15 an so forth, there are definitely some 5/4, 6/4, 7/4 and 7/8 in there. No question.

  • @mdjubasak Good try, as there is no such thing as a 5/15...because 15 is not a subdivision of a measure...but nice try

  • @MLGR3linquish Actually, there IS such a thing as 5/15, but it is very uncommon and not used here. Look up Irrational meters

  • @T0m2305 5/15 dosen't exist anyway. 5/16 yes, but is really in the most akward time measure.

  • @hyrael2 nah...just divide ur 5/4 by another 4 :-P

  • absolutely love the fucking clean solo at 3:36

  • @mauq4

    oooh yeah :)

  • I don't know what these time signature "bars" you speak of mean. Someone explain it to me? :(

  • I can't listen to this. I'm somewhere in between active listening and passive listening and when I start to feel the music all of a sudden they throw some kind of lone 7/8 bar in my face, and when I start to engage myself in the music and analyze it it's dull as hell. This music feels like it wants to be accessible but the time signature changes are so FUCKING ARBITRARY and SPARSE that I just can't listen to it.

  • @Parvenu333 you just have to get used to it. Now it doesn't happen to me, it becomes a normal thing when you've been listening to them since years :D

  • The start sounds slightly Super Mario Galxy-ish xD Yeah, I'm not a nerd, I just watched a music video for some track from super mario galaxy, it sounds similar in style :)

  • Não tem como não gostar.... essa eh uma das melhores musicas de todo o MUNDO.... o instrumental dela é perfeito.

  • Favourite song of all time at the moment. Jordan Rudess is a beast. Same with Tony Levin. And John Petrucci. And Mike Portnoy...

    Yeah, they're all amazing.

  • there's something from Hoobastank (Song : Never saw it coming) in this song at 2:05 - 2:17, it's ths same exact atmosphere, so if you loved this part, try that song, chances are you'll love it too ^^

Technically the hoobastank song came after Biaxident, just a precision

  • @InfinityDz comparing hoobastank to LT... thats like.. uhm... fingerfood to a high class restaurant? Sometimes nice but surely not the same level^^ But i dont wanna be the hardcore fanboy that has to say all the time how AWSOME Liquid tension is... ok one more time^^ THEY ARE AWSOMNYVERSIAL!

  • @AgentTripleH

why not love them both? I have both songs in my mp3 player that's all I mean

  • Love it, Love it, Love it prog at it's best.

  • the first piano part reminds me so much of Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence

  • my favourite LTE moment! by the way thats the wrong album cover...

  • stupenda <3

  • This song is simply unparalleled.

  • We Gonna cover this song!!!

so keep an eye on us

  • amazing! Great! Super Perfect!

  • I remember hearing somewhere that they made most of their music with little or no rehearsal, that they just made up most of it as they went along. I guess that could explain why it's such a mixture.

  • These are most of the guys from Dream Theater. I've seen some of their "how they made their music" videos and CDs. They map out the entire song beforehand so everyone can play the same beat, etc. If you listen close, they change tempo and beat, i.e. 3/4, 3/16, etc. and everything in between. A musician just can't "expect" the tempo changes that these guys play...

  • @lynnugartemendia Dream Theater songs are all mapped out. LTE is mostly they jam and it results in pure awesome. If you ever have a chance to see them live, do it.

  • @Uhh3000 From what I've read about the project, it's kind of a mix. Portnoy and Petrucci tend to be meticulous, wanting to plot out and compose songs in advance, while Levin(and to a lesser extent, Rudess) prefers a style centered more on pure improvisation.

The "Three Minute Warning" tracks on their first album came about from a dispute in which Levin told the other members that he just wanted a free jam, and if they didn't start in 3 minutes, he was leaving for the day.

  • i dont really like prog, i dont really like dt that much but this to me is eargasm. i listen to house music mainly.

  • Mooooi!!

  • @abrahamct6

Personally, I think they covered all the bases (factors)... Unless I'm missing something (quite possible), the things I find to stand out the most in songs are either one or some of these concepts: feeling, solo, catchy rhythms, overall complexity, and vocals, even if that's not the case here.

  • some parts sound like Aeris' song from FF7 when she gets killed by Sephiroth o.O

  • JAJAAJAJAJ

    yes

and there's a part in wither that reminds me FFX theme Someday The Dream Will End

  • @rzrscoot2 damn, way to find a spoiler. btw is it wrong that it sounded to me like Alf main theme?

  • Such a beautifull song.

  • why the beginning sounds like "about to crash" of Dreamtheater.

o wait, it is Dreamtheater without Myung and Labrie, no wonder. lol

  • Why would you ask a question in your comment then answer in the same comment?

  • cuz you didn't drink all your milk yesterday

  • I love how LTE just casually add bars of 3/16, 5/16, 7/16 and 13/16..... So easy...Right?

  • @IronMikeDT STFU MOSS! :P

  • @IronMikeDT hehehe

  • @IronMikeDT thats the progressive metal, its in constant motion XD like the DT song XP, petrucci is a master here, on DT he just cares about speed speed speed speed speed harmonic speed spees XD, here he had more felling XD but anyway petrucci is a Faking master!!!!!!

  • @abrahamct6 You obviously haven't heard DT's "Dance of Eternity." EPIC instrumental, and Petrucci at his best!

  • The basis of their music IS their technique. How many people do you personally know that perform "Panic Attack", or almost any song for that matter? The complexity of the music and the level that they play at demands incredible technique.

  • @EsreverEmordnilap yes but, thats not all about the music, the technique is just a part of the big music world, and im not saying that DT or LTE are bad musicians, indeed they are excelent musicians and thats the truth, but they should care more about the other factors that exist in the music,

  • @IronMikeDT Yep, throw in some 9/8 bars and you've got yourself a mindfuckingly awesome band.

  • @VadaHada69 I hope your comment is ironic.. isn'it?

  • @IronMikeDT Yes. Yes it is really easy to paste bars of odd time signatures into music that is otherwise dull, believe it or not.

  • @IronMikeDT Believe it or not, this song is entirely in 4/4. There are no time changes.

  • @DarkArtist pay attention and you will hear the time shifts from 4/4 to compound time.

  • @DarkArtist Trudat! people are going on about time changes, and while they're trying to pick up on them they completely miss the point of this whole liquid tension exp. People! just effin listen to these masterpieces and stop bitching about time changes and other technical bs!....I have been playing the drums eversince i was six years-old...i don't need time signatures or other shit like that, i play what i feel and what i hear...my music teacher picked up on that, and said: fuck notes! PLAY!

  • @GibzMeDat My music teacher picked up on how i did'nt like to read notes...he noticed my natural abillity to play whatever he threw at me....he tought me lots of stuff, techniques etc. He was always delighted whenever i came around...we just played a hell of alot togheter, and that's how i learned..to this day i refuse to read notes...i mean music is more than a piece of paper with notes on it, you gotta feel it! Ever looked at some orchestra or band when they're reading notes?! IT SUCKS!

  • @GibzMeDat When I learned how to play my trumpet, I only knew that this note = put your fingers like this. I didn't bother with any more theory than that, and I was one of the best in my class. Same with when I started playing guitar.

  • @TheMeaning0fLife Exactly, you either know how to play, or you don't. One can always tell if a musician is a "natural" or not. A good memory is needed though.

Ever looked at a ...let's say classical orchestra?, and wondered why they so desperately need that music on paper?, i mean they rehearse& rehearse&rehearse....that's all they do, so ask yourself this: why can't they memorize it?....because they never learned how to, it's sad really...

  • @GibzMeDat Nothing to do with memory! Same reason you would have the score in fron of you playing a duet except this is with many many more people and instruments.

  • @DarkArtist Actually the end is in 6/4 but okay

  • @DarkArtist In addition, the first chorus with guitar is 6/8 and 5/8, but okay

  • @IronMikeDT finally someone who can actually talk about a piece of music and not say something stupid like, ya man after he sings this this gets good. It's like please leave. Eh

  • @ Faethin and macko656 lol FAIL ARGUMENT

  • is it just me or does the intro to this song kinda sound like a takeoff of Aerith's theme?

  • @lollerskates1992 Took me a few listens, but yeah... there does seem to be some similarity to the opening notes from Aerith's theme.

  • in my opinion, i think they took aerith's theme as inspiration for this song.

  • @lollerskates1992 Really... I doubt they've heard of or played FF7. It just sounds somewhat similar.

  • @lollerskates1992 You really cant have an opinion pertaining to if something happened or not. Thats like saying In my opinion, Jesus was killed by his father. If they did, they did. If they didnt, they didnt. People need to learn that you cant have an opinion on absolutely everything.

  • @randomguydawg people can have opinons on whatever the fuck they want.

  • tbh i think the 2 of u's hav no lives...

    problem solved ^_^

    Peace :)

  • Also, this song is beautiful @>--;--

P.S. If you play Final Fantasy to an excess, it's life consuming, if you play it a little bit, like I do (normally with my girlfriend) you can still have a life.

  • petrucci makes guitar playing sound so fresh and exciting. he has so much material and still manages to make each piece so original...he's a genius

  • Fantastic. !!!!

  • The last 50 seconds of this song are absolutely amazing!

I mean its all awesome, but that part i enjoyed listening to most.

  • This song gives me chills every time I hear it! It's so beautiful and wonderful!
