WATCH FOOTAGE LIKE THIS or better yet join the service and know what it is to be a Proud American like the Vietnam Veterans along with all the other wars that our fathers,sons,brothers,,etc. did to keep us FREE. Amazing how after WW2 and all the photographs of the horror and stupidity that came back, that people could be so stupid to continue to sign up for war, continue to sign up as soldiers, continue to be pawns and cannon fodder for the state and its empires.  Peoples capacity of unendless stupidity and greed never ceases to appall me. The grim reaper laughs to no end. The Viet Nam war was the first where there was much video coverage shown on the evening news. There was much support for the war in the beginning....people were glued to their tv sets. Then reality set in....it was a vicious war....many innocent locals being caught in the middle. Soon, our soldiers lost support of the people at home....not like today where they are fully supported by the public. I appreciate and applaud all veterans of the VietNam war. God bless.

I studied this kind of war most of my life perpared myself for jungle fighting like my uncles before me and my country goes to war in the desert.I only lost one family member in nam doc james pinion 1968 us army the rto,brown water navy, and uncle that launched aircraft off carriers came home the medic died.

My father in-law was there from 68-72 & for years would never speak of it. He'd even leave the room if it was brought up. A few years ago my son (now 14) started asking questions. Even then, it was like their own secret...Grandfather to Grandson. But just recently History Channel has Vietnam in HD & National Geographic Channel has Inside the Vietnam War. He asked us to watch it. Finally after all these years, he talks to us about what he went through. What those guys were up against was crazy.

@TheMackies7576 My mom tells me about what my grandpa said of what happened to some of his friends in Vietnam witnessed and had to fight through over there because he was stationed in Germany luckily but i don't know why.So anyway she says he said he only had a few friends come back out of a'lot that went over there.She also said he would real amotional talking about it

I hate the media. They lie about South Vietnam. They say that ARVN soldiers didnt fight hard or didnt fight at all. But if you ask an american soldier, they would say that the arvn fought damn hard. It ranked up as 4th best army in the world during the time.

its when the US went into Hue and fought street to street/ building to building to clear and secure the city.

Met with huge resistance from NVA.

my dad was in the battle for Hue. He was part of the Marines, and was given a shotgun and told go search some buildings. He entered one of the buildings, and an NVA machine gun tore him up. His fellow Marines retreated, as 3 of them following my dad had been wounded. The NVA started to follow him, and my dad's last action was pulling a pin on a grenade and yelling "Hurrah!" He took 4 NVA soldier's lives, and saved his fellow Marines. I am proud.
