  • I love the music and I love how you finish almost the entire thing in the video, great job!

  • Your video made me smile!! Thank You x

  • @saramezzi grazie per i complimenti :)

  • I need to get a Robostir before I try to make this...40 minutes of constant stirring is crazy.

  • @cyphi1: I feel your pain... My dad did actually have one of those and I should probably get one myself. Last time I made polenta I used the quick cooking one (3 minutes) but as expected it wasn't as good as the real thing...

  • my god, being a small town white boy I look at think, "Why, in Gods name, would anyone ever consume this disgusting representation of what seems to look like pancake batter...?

  • @Ler106 Let's see: you mentioned God twice in two sentences and you felt the need to specify that you're white.... why am I not surprised at your comment?

  • @Ler106 sorry for my english, i'm an italian girl.. if i can give you some advice, try it, maybe then you will not like it, everyone has a different taste we know, and every country has different and particular recipes of course.. but the appearances can be deceiving sometimes.. you should try it!! :)

  • I love this video. Nice duel by the way :)

  • NO MEAT. Otherwise a great video!

  • awww I loved it, how sweet!! Thank you very much I made polenta for lunch today. And tmorrow Risotto, Hugs from Peru.

  • very good opening design. bravo!

i LOVE 'Ma che freddo fa'!! of coz i love to make and enjoy polenta. thanks!

  • @panicabogdan Romanian is not from Rome but from Romania. Polenta is Roman, not Romanian. ;)

  • Awesome video, people! Personalized with your story of family tradition, which I loved, authentic Italian way, and I bet taste as well. I had the polenta flour in my kitchen and was just looking for any generic video to teach me how to make it the best way possible but it was just so charming that I needed to comment, guys. I'm preparing it to my partner next weekend. A big hug to you and your polenta-eating partner.

  • @interprete27 : muchas gracias, espero la pruebes y te salga rica. un abrazo

  • Just like nonna's! I eat just like you. My husband always tells me that no one is going to steal my food ;)

  • now i'm hungry for this........ thank you.

  • I almost got SICK eating Polenta - horrific tasting substance!

  • @nialler190188 Uhh, to each their own. Some people actually like it.

  • The Doors for the win xD

  • ce bine arata,nu am mancato niciodata asa

  • romanian food ! not italian :))

  • @panicabogdan It's sorta neither. Polenta dates back to the roman times, however the word Polenta is Italian.

  • I just did it today, it was very good !!

  • I love the vid. and I love to hear about your family tradition. That is priceless and makes the food even more special! I was eating polenta while watching your video. I cannot wait to eat it on a board next time with my family!

  • @LISAMATERNA thanks for the nice comment

  • The sharing over a wooden board is quite interesting. Mille mercis pour cette magnifique présentation! :-)

  • Lol'd at The Doors 7:23

  • mmm looks great i will try it tomorow.

    :D

i got a lot of polenta all ways at home, but no prepare as you

    in the traditional way!

  • Fantastic! ^o^

  • Good video and easy to follow. To answer a couple of comments: I was born and lived about 90km SW of Rome and my mother did make Polenta hence not a uniquely Northern dish. This video shows the plain jane variety and therefore blend but once you master the process you can add mushrooms to the sauce or make the Bolognese Polenta con uccelli but we can use quails instead. A nice touch is toward the end of the cooking process add slowly some already cooked cannellini beans, etc.

  • Very enjoyable vid. Am I correct to say polenta is from northern Italy and Semolina or pasta is from southern Italy?

  • @trapperbt: yes, polenta is a traditional northern meal. I am not sure whether semolina is from the south, but it is widely used all over Italy. for example in Rome it is used to make "Gnocchi alla Romana"

  • This exactly the way my family used to eat polenta. Thank you for the video.

  • que gracia me hace verle con las manoplas jejeje, nos reimos pero el no se quemara seguro :P

  • Great recipe! Thank you!

  • We made this tonight, and I felt the polenta was very bland. Looking over the video, I noticed salt in the ingredients, but did not see any mention of adding it anywhere. Are you supposed to season the polenta at some point? If so, when? I was excited to try this, and look foreward to trying this again, perhaps with a litlle tweaking. Thanks for the vid!

  • @icahstanzaneba I'm sorry if that was confusing. I had to go back and watch the video and yes, salt is among the ingredients :O. I am not sure why I wrote it there... The polenta itself is not supposed to be very salty, as the sauce and the parmisan are usually enough in terms of salt. I normally use a quite bland stock but if you want to add more salt then you should add it to the stock (or add an extra cube, if that's what you are using).

  • @cattivikkio i have used a vegetable stock, definately makes it less bland

  • Nicely made video.

  • Your videos are very nice, simple but at the same time very entertaining too. I enjoy your recipes, they look very authentic. Going to try this polenta recipe 2nite....with braised lamb shanks in tomato sauce......a bit meatier! keep posting your recipes.

  • BRAVISSIMO!!

  • This was useful and fun. Could use a little green salad with vinaigrette to go with that lovely dish. I'll subscribe.

  • bella la canzone in sottofondo, bona la polenta

  • Many times I see polenta served like deep fried potatoes. Thanks for posting the traditional way of making/eating polenta. Much appreciated, (nice choice of music too)

  • bravo!!! Bel video e mi e' venuta cosi tanta acquolina che sto uscendo a comprare la polenta :)

  • brake on trough to the other side !! such a good pick for the situation , hahahahah , good video keep on

  • Love the recipe, especially since it doesn't need a bucket of butter and cream to be creamy. I wonder, can I grill the leftover pieces instead of deep-frying it, for a healthy alternative?

  • By all means you can grill them in the oven (I wouldn't try on an actual grill, the polenta might fall through).

I often choose the grill alternative myself, just lightly oil the surface of the polenta for extra crispness (but you don't have to)

  • This was really interesting. Thank you for posting. I never would have learned the traditional way to cook and eat polenta without your video.

  • if you're a slow eater you lose

  • Grazie! Just like I remember my Grandma doing it. Now my American wife can see how it is to be done and how it is supposed to look. Your video was excellent in its instruction, and at the same time very entertaining!

  • thank you for your nice words.

Let me know how the polenta turns out :)

  • @AdioThrottle24

Are you retarded or something? You can't cook it by yourself?

    LOL

  • Excelente. Nota 10!

  • is this my kiwi friend?
