  • Every now and then I'll be walking down the hallway in my music school, and I'll hear (or start singing) 'TalkingtoGod TalkingtoGod,' which will be immediately answered by an emphatic chorus of 'TalkingtoMEEEEEEE!'

  • I really think I screwed up not going to Juilliard.

  • juilliard needs to call his mental health into question....

  • I've watched this at least a dozen times and I keep coming back! Keep it up guys!

  • Ahahahahahaaaa. Amazing video :D:D:D:D

  • i love this!

  • high brow subject, low brow humor.

  • @jlaurson This highbrow/lowbrow thing will be the death of classicial music and opera. Younger Americans in particular view this music as a sort of castor oil for the soul--i.e., dry and lifeless. The truth is that most classical/baroque composers were to some degree marginalized, outrageous characters for their times. We know that W. Mozart reveled in telling fart jokes and complained about being paid in trinkets. Let's breathe a bit of life back into this music before it's entirely too late.

  • @blogger1947

I'm not for "the highbrow/lowbrow thing", either. I've got a beef with turning a concert hall into hushed halls of eternal taxidermist reverence.

I do have little patience for corny, unfunny attempts at humor, though. You don't have to be a stick in the mud to think that this was, well... a bit stupid.

  • LOLOLOL Mcwhorter you are a perfect partner in crime with Mr. Gould. Please let me know when you guys are out again. D Sapadin

  • DARK...... gentlemen, dark.... (but also very funny) - BRAVO!

  • AMAZING!!!

  • Oh please mark gould....make more videos. I could definitely spend an entire day watching this stuff

  • Mahler would be proud...he's batshit crazy too sometimes....

  • The Narrator sounds exactly like David Schwimmer from "Friends."

  • the truth is, there's so much that's incredibly genius going on in this video that i don't even know where to start.

  • Hilarious. Mahler meets Anne Rice. Keep 'em coming, Mark.

  • 1:00-1:22

    Cannot stop loling.

  • lmao at 1:21-1:22.

  • This video adds a strange sort of completion to my summer, since I both met Brian MacWharter and heard Mahler's 5th, live, for the first time....

  • Oh my gosh, I almost spilled my coffee all over my laptop! That was the funniest, most outrageously strange video I've ever seen of a Mahler piece, or just about anything else.

  • We just had a floor board cut with one of these. The work dude was pissed that I wanted to rock out with it Mahler style!

  • mark gould for president!!!!

  • bonkers insane. love it.

  • Righteous!

  • AH!..awesome.

  • i'm packing my barbie dolls (with toy trumpets) and power saws for CV now.

  • does it have to be a cordless saw? what voltage in the battery pack should I use? I mean, isn't all about the equipment?

  • Mahler with a Sawzall! Brilliant. What's next, the

    router and Ravel?

    Bravo!

  • hmmmm...so what makes someone wake up one morning and think "Mahler 5....and...and...and...POWER TOOLS!"

    Well done, gentlemen!

  • That was so funny!

  • Amazing! Haven't laughed that hard in a while. Thanks Mark Gould.

  • Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!!

  • May I be the first to say, "talkin' to God!"
