  • The song is about Zappa playing by himself, if you get my drift. The clouds=cloud nine=ecstasy! Of which there is a half-a-dozen, on the base of my resource (handy). You wouldn't think I'd have too many (GIRLS), Since I never cared for sports! He'll straighten up his turban (obvious!!) An' eject a little ooze (more obvious!!) An' then I'll call PUPPY TENTACLE (well what do you think??). Why has no one got this? Why are you looking for arty solutions when a crude one would do? THIS IS ZAPPA!!!

  • ya really underrated track i do agree.

  • PUP TENTACLE CLASS

  • I could recite this song in its entirety from the first day I heard it and still can It just never leaves your mind

  • His little feet got long and flexible ha ha wonderful Frank how i miss him RIP FZ

  • Look up Korla Pandit on the 'net or here on eBay and you can see who "Korla Plankton" is.

He did play a Hammond organ, he did have a ruby and he did where a turban!

Took me 37 years to figure out who Frank was talking about. More L.A. TV references.

  • @dbbubba What happened to Pup Tentacle's chin? I think "His little feet got long 'n flexible" is referring to Lowell George.

  • "The time had crossed the line from later on... to way back when". As have you, Frank. I hope and pray that you are with the Grand Wazoo of the universe (God) in Outer Odditia. Yes, You have always been odd but you taught us to laugh at our oddity. See a cool Zappa appearance on The Steve Allen show from 1962-63. Zappa "plays" the bicycle with Steve. (on youtube)

  • That's Jim Gordon on drums

  • @tonytull I think it's Aynsley Dunbar. Jim Gordon only plays on the title track.

  • @whitedwarf13 Its John Guerin on drums.

  • @angeltech1 On some of the tracks. Both Aynsley Dunbar and John Guerin play on this album.

  • @whitedwarf13 Yes but that is John Guerin on Excentrifugal Forz. Thats not Dunbars' style anyway.

  • @angeltech1 Ok, thanks for letting me know.

  • We all stand on that line between later on and way back when. Frank was a musical genius and a master wordsmith. Later on

  • I wonder if Zappa really could see into the future

  • very intensive sound .... great

  • holy shit whose playing drums on this?

  • then I´ll call Pup-Tentacle

and ask him: How´z his chin

I´ll find out how the future is

    because that´s where he´s bin.....

his feet got long and flexible

    and suckers fell right in

the time he crossed the line

from Later On to Way Back When...

  • Puff Tentacle!

  • I remember it took me months to figure out the lyrics on this LP

It is without a doubt a work of genius

  • ...you wouldn't think I'd have too many since I never cared for sports but I'm never really lonely in my Excentrifugal Forz...

  • Its strange that I know all the words to Zappas music....

but I cant remember which is the hot and cold knobs on a sink.

  • @Misterafyableism lol, I hear you bro, I have similar issues

  • When one hears sounds like this ,what can one say but "ZAPPA!"

  • I love Ralph Humphrey's drum beat work on here! Zappa always had the best drummers.

  • What a great loss. He was taken far too soon. RIP Frank. We loved you.

  • Just amazing... R.I.P. Zappa... This is music, the most complexe musician of XX century... Why? Simple...Show me another man that was a guitarist, but wrote and classical music, show me a singer who performed almost all the genres of pop music, and at the end of his career wrote classical music, or other synclavier original, neordinar music... R.I.P. Frank, R.I.P., such a pitty that some people prefere to listen to jb's baby or other fakes... However, only Zappa is Zappa.

  • @0707NicePlayer That's exactly why I put him in the top 3 of all times musician/composer,next to Ludwig and Igor,of course!

  • @fadethetrade Well, Zappa is amazing, he is a genius, and you are right. I'm sure he will be in my next edition of my 100 composers (classical music), but not in the top 3, anyway, if I will make a selecetion of let it say 50 or 100 greatest of all kind of MUSICAL genres (classical, rock'n roll, reggae, jazz, blues...) Zappa would be very high.

  • @0707NicePlayer the great 0707niceplayer has spoken. everyone let it be known that he thinks zappa is not top 3 of his top 100 composers.

  • @0707NicePlayer

Hey, I think you'll find Dweezil is Zappa as well! Listen to his version of Zomby Woof (Zappa plays Zappa) it's amazing!

  • This is Frank at his nastiest. He tears in his solo while he then makes blues exchanges with "Corela Planknum" "along a one celled Hammond Organism" who happens to be none other then Keyboardist George Duke that creates all those sounds. Also Jack Bruce is the Bassist on call for this short "Interlude" (that was a common way to create an artistic piece in less then 2 minutes back in the day) that is intense from beginning to end.

  • I'll inject a little ooze....along a one celled Hammond organism.......underneath my shoes....

  • @yodasnshit t'as tout compris.

  • I like this piece. It shows Zappa's penchant for fast rhythms and I also dig the Korla Pandit reference. :)

  • really underrated zappa track no one ever talks about this track

  • I agree, amigo. But the problem with Z is that his output is SO huge...

Still, this is one of THE favourites in my book!!!

  • @boogster123321 sadly zappa in general is underrated in this generation...i don't get how his silly make it to the top of the search list, and sadly when they hear a song like "help i'm a rock"(which in my opinion is his worst song) stinkfoot, or yellow snow, they assume they have an understanding of what his music sounds like...but he is formless, he has introjected all genres throughout his lifetime, and no artist has EVER done it like him!

  • @xxxslayerxxx666 well I'm 15 and Zappa is highly regarded with my friends in high school and college

  • @boogster123321 then you are lucky...i went to private school, and there were only like 100 kids, i was just unlucky...i'm glad that he still lives on!

  • @boogster123321 there are many great sounds for you to be heard.

  • Comment removed

  • @boogster123321 you just did

  • then i'll call Pup Tentacle, and ask him: how's his chin? find out how the furture is, because that's where he's been.

  • @anthroscott But I'm never really lonely in my excentrifugal forz!

  • thanks for posting.
