My brother in law hated Donovan. I was a bit ambivalent. Said Hurdy Gurdy Man was important. He sneered and said just Jeff Beck as I was about to say Barabajagal. Then it came upon me... Josie... Yeah Josie... won't fail you. No electric guitars, just a ballad and then I tried to pick the guitar up and do it. You do it better!
You can always make a girl yours if you can play "Josie" . Its a girl killer.

if I had had a son I was gonna name him Donovan but I had a beautiful daughter so I named her Shiloh...really a good job on this tune, i would like to sit a spell amd pick with you....in this troubled world we live in take care....

Fantastic! I have had this song as my all time favourite. I have played it many thousand times. I played it before tests in school to get inspiration a long time ago. This version is so good, very nice guitar playing and I like the voice too, even if it is different from Donovan.
