Now most of the investment in Bolivian oil has to come from Bolivians. The government plans to spend 11 billion dollars over the next 7 years and this will be coming from Bolivian pockets.

Now most of the investment in Bolivian oil has to come from Bolivians. The government plans to spend 11 billion dollars over the next 7 years and this will be coming from Bolivian pockets.

@jcusss The USA preaches the free market to south America and othersz but it does not follow the same rules the bailing out of the banks was protectsionism something the US did not allow south American countries to do when they had a banking crisis. Also they have continued to protect their steel foundries. You are rich and don't care most likely because you manage to get away wqith it but your economy will never flourish while an agressive protectionist economy is your neighbour.

Goni had as a vice in 1994 Cardenas, and indigenous that has a really honorable way to succeed throughout his life. The country was in misery and basic need was a really big problem even for the median class people. Our economical position was not ready at all to make such improvements at that time

A government just creating companies and trying to take control of the whole economy in Bolivia, is not a social government.

@Bedlam1918 What would be humane then? Free markets are humane. The only thing that needs to be changed is how we allocate tax dollars and out countries priorities. Maybe that can be done in more humane ways. But the American dream is real. That is why people flocked here from other countries. There was no opportunity for a better life in many other parts of the world. What more proof do you need? Socialism and communism lost. Capitalism won. It just needs to be improved.

Rurelec which had its power plants in Bolivia nationalised is persuing compensation. Unfortunately, Peter Earl has sold nearly all his rurelec shares so perhaps expects that Rurelec will get unfair treatment from the Bolivian government.
The Bolivian government has proved to have no integrity and thus Peter is most likely correct to cut his losses.

@jcusss well actually there are a lot of proofs. There are a bounch of videos of secret reunions of US ambassador with the oposition leaders, that were not officially declared. Also a american student who came to Bolivia with a scholarship declare that the US embassy asks him to spy all the cuban and venezuelan citizens he met in his stay, and give all the information to them. There are many proofs, buth the most important is the attitude of US with themes like GONI, USAID, NED, IRI, NDI, etc...
