Very cool. I saw this movie in the Bronx when it first came out and got this comic as well as a Jet Jaguar button, which were given out at the theater. Brings back great memories!
Interesting, but spelling and gammer errors appear and why do they call Gigan "Borodan" I have no clue and the art is drawn okay, but there some pictures in this comic that don't make sense and the fight scene isn't very long, but I do get it why they call Jet Jaguar "Robot-Man." I do think the comic is better then American re-edit/dub, but as go for the Japanese version of the film, well, I have no clue.
Gotta know your g-history man. This was made before the movie was dubbed. So names got changes or translated different. And no this wasnt suppose to be long it was meant as to make a little buzz for the movie so people would go see it. you forget back then not many movie commercials.
Oh, wow, I remember reading about this in Steve Ryfle's book. This is quite a gem of an artifact. I mean, this is like the Doom comic book, except not nearly as bad or unintentionally hilarious. I love that they call Godzilla a "hideous hero" and the way it is written reminds me of the way one of Malcolm's friends talked on "Malcolm in the Middle."
I always figured that the names Borodan and Robotman probably came from a Cinema Shares commissioned english dubbing script and they had the comic printed before deciding it would be cheaper to use the crappy Hong Kong dub track. Anyone out there who can confirm my hypothesis?

The Music is from a cd called "Godzilla vs Metal" I cant remember the artist name, the album cover has a flying v guitar stabbing Godzilla in the chest.
Thanks if your interested I will be uploading all of the Godzilla King of Monsters series as well as the Terror Of Godzilla comic series, I will be doing roughly one a week.
I just uploaded Terror Of Godzilla #1 if you wanna check it out!

Yes, I knew that this was made before the movie was dubbed. I guess I wasn't thinking of the things you wrote.

never would have thougt about that theroy but kudos to you if you are right

@zedus456
I always assumed that Cinema Shares intended to redub
Godzilla vs Megalon, since the dubbing was so crappy.
Then they realized the cost, or simply ran out of money.
It is likely that the names Borodan and especially Robotman came from their unused English script.

So that's where the Borodan Nickname came from!
Goji73 2 years ago
Where has that been listed as his nickname?

There was an old english catalog-type book that had a history of monsters films as well as merchindise between 1954 and 1997
There's a short summery of the monsters in the Godzilla and Gamera series. Gigan had two nicknames (Gaigan and Borodan)
Goji73 2 years ago 2
Thanks. He was pretty much called Gaigan everywhere until the movie Godzilla vs. Gigan was released on VHS in 1988
under that title from New World Home Video.
