Un jour j'ai attaché mon vélo à un poteau devant un commissariat car j'avais peur qu'il se fasse voler.

Il ne gênait pas et un agent m'a dit que je pouvais le mettre là.

Vous savez ce qu'ils ont fait? La commissaire a fait demander qu'on coupe mon cadenas à 70€ et qu'on emporte mon vélo, car dans la loi on ne peut attacher son vélo aux biens publics... Donc vous ETES OBLIGES de l'attacher à ce genre de merdes ou on vous le volera certainement. Vive la Belgique

Of course - if you lock your bike up the correct way it would be significantly more difficult, regardless of what you are locking it to.

I always position the lock so it goes through a wheel and around the body. So, even if you get the bike off what it is locked to, the wheel won't spin without removing the lock. I also use a U-lock, rather than the less secure cord locks.

@theboyofspewn U locks are better, but when they are not stiff enough or the lock itself is bad you just have to turn over the bike (thus use the bike itself as a lever) and often the lock will just crack open.
