  • Just finished watching this on Netflix today. Still makes me feel like a kid. Used to get very excited when Ch11 in New York would start advertising it. I noticed that this came out in 1962. Wow! 49 years old! And it is a great movie of great quality.

  • Damn, I sure would have hated 2 b that wuffel-jelly cake. He ate it so fast he almost bit his fingers off. Then, the greedy little booger didn't even say GRACE. Help, Lord! If there is a wuffel-jelly heaven I KNOOOOOOOOOOOW those cakes are THERE. God bless those cakes, each and EVERY one...

  • This is one of the happiest christmas songs ever!

  • @xaniiu

You should figure out what a reprise is and then make a comment....

  • My favorite version of "Scrooge", which I first saw as a four year old! Scary Christmas Future ghost! Jule Styne wrote this cute score, too. Thanks for the memories!

  • Jim Backus ( professor on Gilligans Island ) does the voice for Mr. Magoo. If you buy the dvd release of this, you get a little background story on the making of this film. Just thought Id share that :) Love this cartoon.

  • @Decipher64 Mr. Howell... not the Professor....

  • @Decipher64 Jim Backus was Mr. Howell III not the professor. friendly correction.

  • " A Christmas far more GLORIOUS than GRAND "

    that's what I want :)

  • not a big religious person at all, but i still love this song :)

  • This movie was a huge part of my childhood Christmases! Wish it played on TV sometimes during the holidays so I wouldn't have to resort to my VHS recording of it that's on the way out :[

  • @TheToastyOne

You can get this on DVD now! :-)

  • @TheToastyOne You can get this on DVD now :-)

  • My sons watched this with me on Christmas Eve this year...they liked it, even though it is not 'cool'..

  • Just put this one in the other day to get myself in the mood for the Holidays! I still enjoy it from start to finish, it just sends me back in time to a younger self! Thanks for posting and hope you have a Merry Christmas to all!!!!

  • A Chritmas far more GLORIOUS then GRAND!!!!! GOD BLESS US< EVERYONE!

  • May your Christmas radiate with the Lord's bright blessing, no matter what you have (or don't have) under your tree or in your stocking!

  • oh hush and let the children have their fun.

  • They must know the truth

  • unless ye become like children, you can not enter the kingdom of Heaven.

  • Amen, but you can see why they don't put on Red Boots for Christmas and stories the that tell the true meaning of Christmas on TV like they did a while back. Now when you have a Christmas show on you have to include several religions when it's CHRISTMAS!

  • Oh my, a beautiful Christmas religious message, the kind the ACLU hates. Ha Ha!

  • I always liked Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol. It's a shame the major networks don't seem to carry it anymore.

  • aww such a cute storyyy!!!

  • What an amazing film. Kind of cheesy early-'60s art work/animation but with one of the most beautiful music soundtracks ever. The music is what makes it really special. How glorious! A timeless classic. :)

  • Just a further comment. I don't know what a 'razzleberry' is? I thought they just invented this word for the cartoon. What plant does it come from?

  • Razzleberry is a normally pie made with raspberries and blackberries.

  • I know how you all feel ....this brought many tears to me when I remembered watching this as a young kid in the early 1960's. I am so touched by some of these scenes. The artwork in this little movie is amazing! White outlines against dark backgrounds. Cubism perhaps...quite surreal!

  • Thank you for posting, a magical cartoon and a magical song too. Brings a tear to my eye, very nice memories.

    Joe.

  • As kids, we got a kick out of the razzleberry dressing scene with Tiny Tim. It's created a family tradition - I always bring a razzleberry pie as part of our Christmas dessert!

  • Tiny Tim is adorable in this movie. <33

I think I have the DVD somewhere in my house, but I can't find it.

I know you can purchase it off of eBay or Amazon, and it's also in the library, probably.

  • IIRC, Tiny Tim was Gerald McBoing-Boing, a 1950s cartoon character. :-)

  • ty very much it brings back very fond memories

  • Great movie! A++++ I must be a child at heart because I still love to watch this movie every Christmas season. I was only three years old when this great movie was made! Unfortunately, they don't make movies like this any more and this is a very sad fact indeed! I wish to thank all of the great people who made this great movie possible! I will never forget you! God bless all of you! Merry Christmas to you all!

  • razzleberry dressing i thought he said razzleberry gravy too where is that part

  • They sing this song twice in the movie. This is the second time, and he does not say it here.

  • @xaniiu It's earlier in the show, during the first run of the song: "we've been so awful good...from me down to the baby / and we're not made of wood...or razzleberry gravy."

  • i used to love this as a kid (still do) but they never show it anymore...i'd def love to have my son watch it and pass it along.i can get a dvd but isn't it better waiting for it to come on tv .u get all amped up for it like" it's almost 8 mr mcgoo is coming on" haha

  • I bought this from best buy

  • OMG i luv the part when he is eatin the razzelberry dressing.tat part is soo cute!does any1 know where u can get this movie?

  • I got a copy from ebay

  • I love this movie too, brings back childhood memories of coming in from playing in the cold to watch this on TV! Hey, watch that kid, he's eating the candle!!

  • My Dad loves this movie, and this song. He always sings along with it. This is my favorite adaption of Christmas Carol. It's so cute. =)
