The context doesn't necessarily vary with the person using the word. You have to look at how it is used. When skinheads use the term "white pride", they're referring to pride in white people's subjugation of other groups. If someone said "white pride" because many great scientists have been white, is that chauvinistic?

European or Western pride is a more accurate term, but African pride is also more accurate than "black pride". Alexander Dumas wasn't considered white, but he still was obviously a western writer.

The reason why the west had great scientists is because of the printing press which led it to advance more than other cultures. @normalais In America maybe, but your statements are still dumb there was a time when the Islamic world and China were more advanced than the west. The numerals we use came from the Arabs -Arabic Numerals. The west then advanced more because of the printing press and secularism.
