This video is great! I think you should include all the major airports in AUS as well as some regional ones if you could get a series going. I do a little spotting in Melbourne and a lot at my local airport about 3 hours away from MEL and its great to see my hobby on the net! What will it take to get a series of them? 100,000 views?
All the cops that have stopped and questioned me like I'm a terrorist when I'm plane spotting should watch this video, only then will they fully understand the best hobby in the world!!
i love spotting planes and filming them and taking shots with my mobile phone at the observation deck or near the runway alson love collecting model die cast planes i have been called weired or strange by some people but in the end i no that there is a billion like me.
I've always loved planes, but i only found out recently about plane spotting!! YES i am a little behind the times... Are you able to tell me locations to spot???
Going to St. Maarten next week SXM (TNCM) with some friends from BOS area for my first de facto spotting trip. Plane spotters are a badass group of people! Im from KDTW area where everyone is pretty much uninterested in aviation but I buck that norm with pride! nice docu here
Wow, you've all got it so easy at airports like Sidney intl. Boy, you should know what i do just for 4 planes at one hour, (if i'm lucky)! I go trough some three-four feet of snow, quite a way, sometimes... (depends on witch runway is active).
Being a plane spotter at a relatively light trafficated airport in Finland, is much more work, for much much less. Usually what i see is an ATR72, and a finnair EMB-190/ERJ-170. That is it. Every Sunday! Can't get enough of it!
2:30 thats what happens here in memphis no plane spotters there or that i don't see none the fence says no tresspassing well i actually have to drive around the airport just to take pics
@JETT721 but he was clever and new the law. I laughed when the truck pulled up and the guy with the Aussie accents says "Sorry mate, 3 metres from the fence". :)
I've been at SYD twice and it's my favorite airport. This video is brilliant, it's an excellent tribute to all of us! Thank you to everyone who made this video possible. I "saw" myself when at the biggining of the video when she says that she wake ups at early morning to see the International arrivals.
If you do this now, you run a risk of being on a Domestic Terrorist database. I got approached by police at London City airport who questioned me and took down my details. Told me to go away.
Thanks for your kind words! We filmed this several years ago, it was intended to be part of a longer doco which didn't make it off the ground! If i can get enough interest in this video, I'll try and get an airline to fund a series of them - so pass the word around! Thanks, Jason.
Thats excellent mate - 5 stars. Love Sydney airport, wish I could get down there more often. When did you film it all? Awesome editing also and great story. Cheers!

Nice! Sounds like a lot of fun.
I always enjoyed "watching" too.
When I was younger I'd pack a lunch and go into Boston's Logan airport and go up on the observation deck and spend the afternoon there.
I'd be wondering where the planes were going to or comming from and wish I could be in one of them.

I am sure the spotters would be well behind it.
