This is Zakir at the height of his career. Phenomenal speeds. I never seen anyone play like this. In logrithmic scales, level 5 is grand master. Zakir Hussain is the only tabla player in the world rated at Level 6 on a logrithmic scale. No other tabla player can even approach level 6.
@hitmanlad LOL really? You think that THIS was the height of his career?! No offense, but that statement is ridiculous. And by the way, tabla playing is not about speed. The reason Ustad Zakir Hussain is considered so amazing, and strongly attracts the attention of your ears, is because he has an intense focus on clarity, not focus on speed. That is the true skill of tabla, to pronounce every single stroke with outstanding clarity...
@hitmanlad OPEN UP YR MIND AND EARS , quire afew phenomal tubla players around. ust. ZAKIR JEE IS mostly playing here stuff of Ust. Thirkawa sahib and ust .Feroz khan saheb .no doubt Zakirjee one of the greatest .
@micpetes111 Tafo can not be matched only in speed. But his playing is not beautiful and it seems like he is just blasting the tabla.
