Can you store lets say, 4 mins of a sequence in one bank? Like lets say you connect it to your laptop and get some audio you've recorded (A 4 min song) Could you save the whole 4 mins into just the 1st bank?
I have a quick question like the guy below, can a midi trigger be used for the samples on the roland for hands free op?
I wanna be able to play maybe 7 sections of each backing track, verse, chorus etc and then just load another bank for the next track. I also see this has only 10 banks for the 12 pads, would that mean I would need to buy a load of memory cards for say, 30-40 songs?
Do you know, if I attach a foot pedal perhaps to the midi, can I trigger a sample to play hands free, while playing guitar? Thanks for posting and making this video, big help!
ok had lots of trouble getting a readable flash card for my br-600 recorder, had to find update on the net,now it works.does this have the same trouble couse 1 gb is old already
Hello...I really hope I get a response to this question I have. I wanted to know where do I place my wave file son the memory flash card? Where is this "so-called" ROOT directory?
I am having a tuff time with this. I want to somehow have a way to quickly load saved samples onto the sp-404 for live performance.
nice demo...but i dont completely understand the sampler itself. are all the samples built in? or can you use another piece of hardware, like a synth, to record different samples/loops?
Hi. Yes, you are correct. You can input any sound device using the inputs & record as samples into the SP-202. It has no built in sounds except maybe a pure tone (?).
Sounds can also be taken off of computer via memory card reader into compact flash cards.
what kind of cables do you have plugged in to the back of it? like how big are they and where can you buy them and what're they called? thanks for the help
Those are rca cables (monster cable studiolink series) Depending on what you are plugging into on the other end will determine what cable you need. The output on the sp404 is rca (so if your speakers are rca input - you would go with 'rca to rca' cables).
Most speakers or audio interface will have an rca input.
They come various lengths, can be bought at local music store or online retailers (zzounds, musicians friend, etc). Will set you back around $10-30 for a quality cable.
@TMNTV For what its worth, the 404sx accepts up to 32 gb cards. and they come with a 1gb demo card with some space to make your own samples, as well as premade samples and patterns
is this compatible with cubase? would the sounds I make using this be the same when recorded as a midi file in cubase?
thanks

How do I create my own noise samples?
By noise samples, I mean not an actual instrument like drums and guitar, but just.. noise.

HoweGavin 3 years ago
The SP-404 comes equipped with an industry-standard CompactFlash slot that accepts cards of up to 1GB capacity
TMNTV 3 years ago

thanks a lot for the overview man. i really really want to learn the arts of sampling and this seems like a good sampler to start with.
shrpenyourteeth9 3 years ago
you can also change the multifx by hitting the number pads.
cearleywine 3 years ago
it'd be nice if the video editing wasn't so choppy. it's hard to tell what you're doing with the SP-404 and what is just artifacts of the editing.
spazz12873 3 years ago
its supposed to be. this is a groove sampler, not a tuba :)
