  • thank u very much

  • you're a very good learner thank u so much for your video's but can u also crochet a pouch with 3 ply yarn???

  • @dushi62011 You can make a pouch with 3 ply yarn. You will want to use a smaller crochet hook or the pouch will have looser stitches and may not look very good.

  • Thanks!!!! I made mine yesterday! :)

  • @nurita4 Please share a picture of your round crochet pouch.

  • @tjw1963 yes!! how do I do it??

  • @nurita4 You can do a video response or share an image on my facebook page

  • i want to make this bag but bigger, how do i do so?

  • @scrumptious163 You can work an extra increase round. This is evenly working more increase stitches, 2 stitches in the same stitch, on another round to increase the size.

  • this is so helpful :) im gonna try this out ^^

  • I learnt how to crochet and still practicing using this tutorial! given a pouch to my cousin as a present and she loves it!

  • @shezzzles I have often thought this would be a great gift for a child. I loved pouches when I was a kid to store rocks and marbles. Thank you!

  • Just completed this as my very first crochet project! Thank you for such wonderful videos and instructions! You're making it possible for me to learn without someone specifically teaching me. :)

  • I love thjis puch can not wait to start 1 right now =)

  • @ttwild111 Size I/5.5mm crochet hook.

  • @tjw1963 thank you so much!!

  • i'm in 4th grade and i have 2 teachers. one is Mrs.Hatcher and one is Ms.Lento. Ms.Lento teaches language arts and science and Ms.Hatcher teaches social studies and math. i made this pouch and i think Ms.Hatcher will like this because back then in maybe 1609 or 1612 or whatever, they might've had pouches so i'm gonna give this to my teacher for a present. ( christmas present )

  • @MisakiSagiyoma How thoughtful of you! This will make a very nice present for your teacher!

  • It took me a while to make but it turned out very nicely. Thank you for the video!

  • @myspacetuner You are welcome.

  • I just finished this!

It is so cool. The only problem is i don't know what to put in it and most people wouldn't wanna walk around carrying this and it doesn't look right with a strap haha.Any ideas on what to put in it?

  • @SocoBrianna you can use it as for the coins or for the bathroom. you put the bar soap in side or you can use it to put Potpourri in side an put in your closet to smell goo. Just some ideas. I used for coins and my little one used for her barbies cloths. Hope these work.

    Griselda

  • You are welcome. Happy crocheting.

  • Teresa I tried to send you a video response but it didn't work out, so if you have time check out my video response to your round pouch at jsancho722 Thanks

  • Great job.

  • Thank you for your vids. I've learned basics of crochet and made my first flower in one night thanks to your guide :)

I've some problems with a hook. I'm not really sure which should I use to different types of material.

I live in Europe, so here we've different signs for sizes of hooks. I think that isn't a big problem to find out which size respond to which letter on your hook, but - if you please - would you recommend me some basic sizes that are used to most popular types of crewel?

  • You are welcome. I use a size I which is equal to a 5.5 mm hook. I do remember the crochet hooks in Germany being metric.

  • Hi... Your videos are GREAT. How do you make the base wider on this one? I tried just continuing to double stitches and it is rolling. My husband wants a "dice bag" and this is a perfect pattern, he just wants the base a little larger. Thanks so much!

  • Thank you. Round 5 is the last increase round. You can still continue on with increases to make a fatter bottom to the bag. You may want to do one more round of 36 single crochet before you increase again. That keeps the bag more uniform and from becoming wavy. Maybe you would want to increase every three stitches. You would do 1 single crochet in two stitches, In the next stitch you would do two in the same stitch. That will give you a total of 48 single crochet.

  • how many ounces of yarn do you think I would need if i was making two bags.

Does the amount (ounces) of yarn change if you use two strands or is it the same as you are using one string. Sof if you take the string out of the two stand one would it be the same as the project with only one string?

  • You might be able to make two bags with 5 ozs. I always buy an extra skein to be on the safe side.

If you add two strands together, it will be the same project, a little bit larger and heavier.

  • Honestly this is the first video that makes me understand the magic circle... Thank you very much

  • You are welcome. :)

  • Thanks darling....I was just looking at your SC ripple variation....that looks so easy. I will try it out and see what it looks like! You rock!!!

  • Hi Teresa. I am an avid crocheter, and I was wondering if I could do a basic shell stitch with just doing 5 dc in each chain, not skipping any chains, or would that look too crowded? I really enjoy your tutorials. I really want to advance in my blankets. I always do just either hdc sc, or dc throughout on all my projects. I think it's time to change it up a little!!

  • The shells will be to crowded if you do them without skipping.

  • I love your tutorials so much. I am relearning to crochet and you have been such a huge help thank you!

  • You are welcome. :)

  • Teresa, this is awesome, as always. I appreciate all the work you do to make these videos. Thank you.

  • You are welcome. :)

  • how do u embelish the pouch

  • very hard i cant do it

  • Teresa,

I love the edging on the yellow pouch. Could you tell me how was the edging done?

  • What I did with the yellowish pouch edging was add 1 round of the shell stitch. I finished it with a round of the reverse single crochet.

  • Wow! Thanks! That edging looks really good!

  • You are welcome. Did you give it a try?

  • Teresa,

I tried this shell edging on 'baby mittens' (Your video). It came out really cute. I modified the mittens to have a drawstring like this pouch and shell edging. For this pouch, I already finished with double crochet & reverse single crochet. I would try shell edging on one more pouch, I am yet to make.

    :) Thanks so much.

  • That sounds cute.

  • Teresa, I love your videos. I just type 'crochet tjw1963', and start working on some project in your list. I have made heart purse, angel, christmas wreath, beannie cap so far.

I really thank you so much.

And the best thing, I learnt crocheting just watching your videos. No one taught me. No books. Just your videos. Thanks so much for your beautiful work and your golden heart to take so much of effort to post videos.

  • You are welcome. I appreciate your comments and feedback. ~~Teresa

  • I was wondering if there is a good way to increase the size of the bottom of the bag, so that it is wider? I'm not sure, I'm just learning. Your videos are very helpful. I tried to learn this from a book but I guess i am more of a visual learner so thatnk you!

  • You can add more increase rounds. I also have a tutorial where I have taken the beanie cap, flipped it upside down and turned the cap in to a drawstring bag.

  • Ohh thanks for the link. I like this bag as well as the one I made. I made my bag with the circle from the other video that was chain 6 then hook together. I made that out with double crochet to make the circle then did 2 more rows of it then made the sides up with continued double crochet. I just did it that way because it happened to look better with the nylon cord I used.

A good tutorial for me would include how to finish off your work with the loose strings and how to alternate colors.

  • I sent you the video tutorial of the stripe beanie cap. It shows how to change color and tie in the loose ends. You can even flip it upside down and make a drawstring bag.

  • hi teresa, i made d same pattern u did, but instead of using it as a coin purse, i used it as a coaster for my drinking glass. i will upload a video of it so that i can show u a variation of the pouch. thx a lot!

  • I will be looking for your video.

  • Your videos are so helpful! Thank you.

  • You are welcome. :)

  • This pattern was so easy. Although I made a slight mistake on the edging, it was hardly noticeable. I made the pouch in pink and used a pink ribbon to thread through. I plan to use it as a sachet pouch. Thank you so much for making my crocheting experience so enjoyable.

  • You are welcome. :)

  • HI Teresa!! can u please suggest or send a link of Shrug pattern ..I searched a lot but didnt find a nice one...

  • I'm sorry but I don't have any links for a shrug. I would suggest that you do a Google search or join a crochet group on yahoo.

  • HI Teresa!! I made a round pouch for my mother-in-law, it was her birthday..she was very happy to have it. It has come out very well..now she stores jewelry in that pouch... All credit goes to u. Thank you !!!

Im planning to make a netted sweater using white slim yarn, with very beautiful design, which i can wear it on any clothes.

Can u please help me to make one? Thanks again

  • You are welcome. What I would suggest for your sweater is to be familiar with increasing and decreasing. Once you get going with your pattern, feel free to ask questions.

  • Hi Teresa, luv your videos!

i just started doing crochet, and almost done with my 1st pouch, thnx to your video...

what are the appropriate yarn to use to make pouch (aside from the wool)?what about the hook size?

  • I am using a size I crochet hook and 4-ply yarn. You can interchange yarns and hooks sizes to make it larger or smaller.

  • I don't use youtube often so when I tried to post a video response to this one, it didn't work. I have made two pouches. You're awesome Teresa!

  • Thank you Teresa for helping me. I'll try it. It's just that I'm sort or learning crocheting. Again, thanks. And again love your tutorial!

  • You are welcome. I am going to do a tutorial for the drawstring round on the beanie cap and turn it in to a bag. It will be a larger bag than this one.

  • Hi. Love your videos! Started to make a pouch today but after a few rounds I see that the work doesn't go larger but straight up like a tube. Should I use a thicker yarn or it doesn't matter? Thank you in advanced for your help.

  • You can use any size yarn that you would like. It is a small pouch so it is not going to get larger. You can add increase rounds if you want to make it larger. If you have made the beanie cap, you you can turn it in to a larger bag. When you get your bag long enough, do the drawstring row, then edging.

  • I do plan on making a larger tutorial for a pouch. I have many ideas and not enough time.

  • i have made some already and my friends have loved them so im starting to sale them

  • This is an awesome and quick project. I have made several already..

  • I made this it turn out so cute! Thank you..
