This Jim Foster is just unbelievable. Experienced camera-man, great mechanic skills, did the Dakar rally (alone and with Race to Dakar team) and now security. I found out that he spent 22 years in SAS, 4 years in 1-para, he`s a fully qualified combat medic, speaks fluent french and arabic...the guy is insane.

Long Way Round was totally fascinating because we got to see the journey through the eyes of Charlie, Ewan and the support crew. This one was The Ewan Show, with his dad, mom, brother and wife. Oh and incidentally there was some bloke named Charlie in there somewhere.

I'm totally on board with everyone about Eva going to Africa but regarding the ski holiday Eve had with Charlie's family..... just for the record, Ewan has 2 kids who are never shown onscreen (his choice to keep them away from the media). I'm sure Eva and Charlie wanted to cancel this ski trip and stayed with Ewan but because kids are in the picture and its their holiday, Ewan must have insisted that they go ahead.

I agree. I can't believe she left Ewan alone to hobble around the house, while she's off on a ski-trip. I certainly would've stayed as well to look after him. Aside from that, she's really imposing herself on Ewan and Charlie's trip. She's rather selfish...she doesn't stay home to take care of her husband with a broken leg, tags along on his trip with his friend, and slows them down because she can't ride a bike...all because she's jealous that Ewan is having fun without her.

7:28 They joke about it, but LWD did become a sort of The-Ewan-McGregor-And-Family-S­how. I think Charlie had every reason to be pissed. I understand the producers point of view since Ewan is the "star" but this being the 2nd season, Charlie is just as much of a star when it comes to the LW series. It was touching in LWR with the dad/fam surprise, but to do it a 2nd time was contrived. The 2nd season was very unbalanced. Besides, Eve added nothing to the trip for viewers, IMHO. 2 guys, 2 bikes!

I think it's not appropriate for his wife to be going on the Africa portion of the trip...or even the trip at all. It's not some gender role b/s either: She's simply not into the "bike" culture.  She herself even personified the bike in Ewan's accident, stating she "hated it" and blamed it for his situation. That right there shows she's not mentally set to deal with the rigors of riding mentally in such an environment. She's surely not skilled enough, by her own admission.
