This song is immense. The instrumentation on it is AMAZING - the guitar gets most of the focus because there's so much of it, but the bass and drums form one of the best rhythm tracks laid down by a British band EVER.

@LookSquirrel - I can actually play a few of musical instruments but I still like to play guitar hero - just while you're playing, don't forget to actually learn the guitar, especially since someone who can play well on guitar hero just might be able to play well in real life. Guitar hero is about fun and music, guitars are about personal expression and oneness with the vibrations in the universe. Lol. They're just two different things I think. Balance....

This song is immense. The instrumentation on it is AMAZING - the guitar gets most of the focus because there's so much of it, but the bass and drums form one of the best rhythm tracks laid down by a British band EVER.

Such as... claiming I have evident and newsworthy skill because I can "play" Guitar Hero. I say it's more worthwhile in life learning an instrument.

I honestly don't want to involve myself too deeply with this, but I assumed you were responding to the person that commented that he played this on Guitar Hero. A lot of things could be considered worthwhile in life than other things right? I mean, I could go out and eat ice cream for breakfast, or I could eat something healthy... so what would be more 'worthwhile'? It's absolutely subjective. What I disagreed with was the 'do it properly' part. He wants to play his/her game.

I'm putting forward the idea that nobody values comments that appraises Guitar Hero, but if someone says "oh yeah man i can totally play this song on guitar on stage" then at least it's partially admirable. Not really worth my time either, but at least it's not someone bragging about Guitar Hero.
Jesus, I could bear reading someone's tales about him playing with Knopfler on stage, but not Guitar Hero.

it seems more that you are trying to validate your choice by degrading some one elses. if you both enjoy your chosen path then let it be, playing a real guitar is far more talented and admirable in my eyes but if some people dont have to desire or talent to attain the same level of acheivment then why not them enjoy the guitar threw their chosen medium. it is all subjective!

though it's 5 minutes long, after the first minute, i feel like i've heard the whole tune, which is a shame cos it gets more interesting 2 minutes in - nice dropouts n builds n piano etc.
the guitar riff is fuckin relentless though, i feel like someone has liquidised a gibson les paul and injected it into my brain.
