@nickviking1 I am not 100% sure, but I would put my money on Italian Prog rock amazingness Goblin. Between Keith Emerson and Goblin, I don't think anyone else does music for Dario's movies
I love these two scores... I just wish that Argento left out those rock scores during the murders. They would have been much more frightening... I also think it really dates the film (very 80's). But this is still one of his best (the photography in this was staggering).
Are you kidding? The hard rock music is what makes the film edgy and in your face. It was a great contrast with the boring 'opera' score throughout the rest of the film.
As far as being dated, the 1980's were a very important and special time for the horror genre and metal music for that matter, I think horror and metal go hand in hand.
You can't just have only rock or only classic, I like the mixture of the two, if you direct a horror with ONLY hard rock soundtrack it gets too repetitive, that is why Phenomena (main soundtrack) was a success, Simonetti mixed his rock with opera
There's an import cd which has the bill wyman and terry taylor music but sadly it's out of print and very hard to find, took me several years to get my copy but it was worth the wait.
I've been looking for this CD online so I can buy it, but I can't find it easily at all. Can you tell me anything that might help - like the record company that released it or the exact title of it for example?
good god where can i find a copy of that bill wyman/terry taylor song??? i've been looking for it for years, still can't find it anywhere.... drives me nuts, it does. such a great piece of music
The first minute and 35 seconds of this is actually Opera Theme by Bill Wyman and Terry Taylor. The rest of the music is Simonetti but the first part is by Bill Wyman and Terry Taylor.
Well I happen to really like the Opera soundtrack and it took me a while to get a CD with the Bill Wyman, Terry Taylor, Brian Eno, and Roger Eno music so I tend to notice such things.
martena, you are an artist too...;-)

No. If she does the needles will tear her eyes apart. So she has to watch her friends being killed.

nest to Suspiria this is Argento's most intense and brutal film. Tenebre comes close though
