@ilser73 Mai, tenori di tale livello sono irrepetibili. Noi siamo solo fortunati dato che possiamo riascoltali.
Come altri commentatori ritengo Pertile tra i più grandi tenori di ogni epoca e in talunne opere il migliore in assoluto. I think Pertile one of the gratest tenore of all times and for some operas the gretest one.

I've heard him for the first time singing "In fernem Land" included in the album Les Introuvables du chant Wagnérien and I was amazed!

His voice and style were not always quite "phonogenic", but his best disks clearly show why he was so widely admired in Italy and South America.

One of those "controversial" tenors (like Martinelli and Zenatello), but Pavarotti was, after all, justified in his admiration for both Pertile and di Stefano.

melzerboy-I don't know why Martinelli gets all the criticism.I have probably all that he recorded with Rosa Ponselle in mainly Verdi duets,and IMO-they are all superb!

Grazie Gerardo per questo video che mi dà la possibilità di ascoltare per la prima volta Aureliano Pertile.
Mia zia ha cantato alla "Scala" dal 1924 al 1931 e lo conosceva
bene.
