vaseline melts the plastic on ur cube. Its petroleum which is bad for cubes. Crc silicone spray is good

It doese not melt.Every time you turn a layer from the friction a part of the cube falls as dust like when you rub 2 bricks and dust falls.Just wih vaselin it absorbs all the dust and it slows it down with time.

Use CRC Heavy Duty Silicone. Don't use any other type of silicone as they suck for cubes lol. I get mine from Walmart for $1.50 USD.

i've tried vasoline. just say no. walk away. it melts the cube and adds resistance. not good stuff. i use a thicker silicon goo. i work it in, then wipe it off with a paper towel and it moves like magic

spray it inside, work it in (though it may feel worse) then take apart, make sure pieces have silicone on evenly, then let them dry (apart so they don't stick to each other, cause silicone can be like glue)

or just take apart, line up all the pieces and give 'em all a spray without nozzle, so it mists on all of 'em, Watch pestvics awesome tutorial

vaseline does not melt the cube, it could if you spin fast. Vaseline is solid instead of liquid like silicone so it will offer resistance every time you spin your cube, and that sucks doesn't it?

Rubik's Brand DIY, or Rubik's Brand store-bought, like a WalMart cube? The store-bought ones can't be adjusted.

rubik's doesn't make DIY cubes, and yes, you can adjust the tension on store bought cubes, the only problem is, it takes a bit of effort and the center caps have to be glued back on.

I've tried twice. The first time I wasn't even able to take off the center caps, fearing I would break the actual center pieces. The second time, I did get the center caps, and I DID break the centers. No screw in site, only a rivet. On another cube (that I didn't harm, it was given to me), the centers were broken off, and again, rivets, no screws or springs. I don't know how you got to adjusting your cubes, but any store-bought cube I've used I haven't been able to.
