  • Nice rebuild. Great picking, too.

  • Good choice with So. Central Rain.

  • nice work, sir.

  • Hi there- I would love to see pics of how you converted the bridge. Any chance? I am also enjoying So. Central Rain. Cheers-

    Brian

  • i have a tele that looks just like that. but its six string. i want yours. sooo badly

  • mmkey, now all it needs is some sounds of silence :D

  • Any problems with intonation?

I had to install a 12 saddle bridge on my Ric to get better intonation.

I suggest you look at a Jangle Box pedal. It will make your guitar sound incredible.

BTW, your Gtr sounds awesome, but if you try the pedal it will blow you away.

  • ahh you should've done the stairway to heaven solo =D

  • I wish you explained what position the switch was everytime you changed it :)

  • whats the song that starts at like 48 sec?

  • This would work better with a Thinline Telecaster.

  • BEAUTIFUL TONE AT :49 THROUGH 1:00

  • Very cool. Do you have any demos where you do that string bending tele sound that you hear on country music? Can you do that one a 12-string tele? Or the chicken-pickin that you hear a lot on country. Thanks much.

  • BRAVO !!!!! WHAT ARE VERY 'is the name of second song? Is very beautiful!

  • Thats very smart of you to use lipstick pickups..GFS make good pickups..are you planning to keep the guitar?

  • This is probably gonna sound really retarded but wot are the advantages of a 12 string over a regular 6 string.

  • which bridge did you use? It looks like a modern style tele bridge. I plan on doing this same thing and getting the Gotoh 12 str bridge and putting the saddles on the tele bridge.

  • it's a 6-saddle "vintage style" bridge, with Jazzmaster saddles. I had to drill an extra hole on the High-E side for the octave string.

  • how much that guitar????????

  • You've convinced me to order that GFS Lipstick Tele Bridge P/U for my Thinline. It sounds amazing. Also, anyone who starts a demo playing "So. Central Rain" instead of the blues scale gets my vote!

  • Nice, I wouldn't mind a learning 12 String im hoping to order one from eBay.

I have a normal 6 String Tele ATM its really good

  • Telecasters are too under-rated anyway. I wish i was smart enough/had enough cash to what you did here. It's awesome.

  • I like this concept, but the Stratocaster is still a much better base for a 12-string.

  • why?

  • dude why not?

  • I was replying to someone who said that you can't make a tele 12 string lol, just youtube's confusing comment system

  • Strats are just so mellow, so they really bring out the twelve string sound better than a snappy, snarly, twangy Telecaster...

  • Makes you wonder, why DOESN'T Fender make a telecaster 12 string? Seems like a fair number of people, including myself, like the idea. C'mon, Fender. Keep you eye on the ball.

  • They did! just rare maybe not in production anymore

  • so, this is custom made..? i'm about to make an arm for my jaguar body but i thinking of make a 12 string what do you recomend..? is this arm bigger..? or something..??

  • very clean man, props!

  • AAARGHH NOT STAIRWAY. DIEEEE!!!

  • Cool.. what kind of bridge did you use?

  • Yeah i was wondering the same thing because i would like to build my own 12 string telecaster.

  • r.e.m.

  • whats the first song?

  • So. Central Rain by REM

  • I KNEW IT WAS REM! IT SOUNDED SOOOO FAMILIAR!

    thanks

  • i get better tones from my Italia Rimini 12 String to be honest, i'll try and get some vids up soon.

it might be you need a new amp, or you need to turn up the bass a bit, nice guitar though

  • Ahh dude...It would be awesome if you could get some vids up :)

    I'm thinking of buying one...

    Would you recommend it?

  • yeah man, i've been trying, but youtube doesn't like the format of my videos! so it might be some time, keep posted!

    :)

  • Ah man, that sucks a bit... :|

Well, would you recommend it? :)

  • i would recommend it from the depths of my heart! it's a seriously amazing guitar! keeping it in tune can sometimes be a hassle, but when it is, it's perfection!

    cheers!

  • Ahh nice one!

Thanks for that then :) I shall definitely be getting one and I'll probably put some videos of it on YouTube because there don't seem to be any at the moment :| How strange....

  • please, keep me posted! :)

  • what, no stairway?

    very awesome man.

    extremely cool.

  • oops, you had some there

still very cool, even the second time around

  • WHERE DO YOU GET ONE OF THESE????

  • Wow man, that sounds awsome. I like the slow riffs at the beggining of the vid, sounds really rich and full. 5/5

  • Hey that is awesome! What kind of bridge did you use?

  • same here all I can find is the Gotoh where you have to drill thru the body for the string thru

  • Hella cool! Great sounds.

  • Great sound and unique guitar, well done.

  • good job, Matt. I dig.

And RefUser - somebody who has an idea and the ability to turn that idea into a reality hasn't wasted a penny.

  • Understand the perspective here. The fella built this guitar -- its a one-off creation and I think its really slick. Twelve string telecasters are quite rare. This build was an adventure with no idea what the outcome would be and a brave undertaking considering the work and expense involved. I think the story has a happy ending with a really cool and unique guitar that sounds great.

  • What, no Byrds riffs? C'mon!
