  • just so ya know you dont need anything but your magnetron and transformer. not sure why you wanted to use the front panel as your on/off switch. so.... about that msg at the end about being trained professionals....

  • good thing you're wearing those hi tech radition suits

  • those welding googles wont protect your eyes from microwave radiation. welding googles only block out visual and ultraviolet wavelengths

  • This is very dangerous, and you should not be playing with these things. The high voltage can easily kill you, and left unattended could kill a child or pet. Playing with microwaves of this power level, you are risking blindness by burning your eyes, RF burns, and regular burns. Your experiment can also hurt people who are not in the room. These experiments can interference with police fire and medical communication which can make it difficult for them to save lives. Stop playing with this.

  • Well, are not the microwaves emitted very directional? If so, I see no harm playing with these, just as long as you dont drape your sack over it and turn it on...

  • Mystery wire #2 @1.07, lol

  • " Mystery-wire #2 " @1:04 - that was priceless...

  • Hey, guess what! I've used a microwave oven to induce mutations in bacteria... just to see if it would. It works well.

Since a human's genetic encoding is so much more complex, there's more to break. I'd bet you did do some damage, fortunately cells are programmed to self destruct if the DNA gets screwed up. Though sometimes the damage goes undetected or the apoptosis mechanism just fails and the wonky info gets passed on. (Think cancer.) It can take years for a problem to manifest.

  • cool

  • I'd really like to play with a microwave oven....I just don't want to fry my nuts....could that happen?

  • i mean the wave type microwaves you cant get irradated by them anymore than you can be irradiated by radio waves, you really think you could sell microwaves if they gave you radiation sickness?

  • you cant get radiation poisoning from microwaves.....

  • You realize you've probably voided the warranty on that microwave...

  • Ok guys, you are kidding with a thing that you dont know really, before to play with a magnetron you have to learn about waveguides, focusing a beam into a parabolic dish, and at this point you can speak about a HERF! Go play the sand trenian boys! Hahaha!

  • You call this a gun....dude...thats a lie. Pure and simple.

  • Guys you are crazy...but a great video still. And people telling you to be careful are really wasting their breath as there is no such thing as being "careful" - there are proper procedures for doing such things and you are a world away from them!

  • Also...... The range on that piece of crap microwave wasn't great. It was a 500 watt model, IE the kind thats takes 8 minutes to pop a bag of popcorn. It was on for about 20-30 seconds at most, and we only turned it on twice. The only real danger in this video was from being shocked, but we grounded the cap before disassembling the unit. And while Darksplinter82 may be an idiot, thats why he is holding the camera.

  • Lol guys and your comments about the tinfoil covering...that was just for the show. And yes I know we had lots of radiation. This was 2 years ago and im still alive and my men are still swimming...Got lucky this time. Trust me guys me and my bud are not idiots...that was just a prototype. All further testing done to that thing had proper shielding.

  • @Darksplinter82 it was non ionizing radiation(the safe kind that does nothing)

  • Lol u just got alot of rads dude um just to save tome and tinfoil cover the micro wave emiter lol not Iu haha but leave a hole for micro waves to shoot in a focus

  • Redneck + Microwave = Genius

  • Testicles and heart more vital than your brain? I'm assuming you guys were using the tinfoil shields as more of a joke, but don't you think you ought to have some sort of headgear? A nice big tinfoil hat concealing a Faraday cage around your head? lol

  • Great information guys! Down here in middle Gulf Florida, EVERY illegal stepping off the boat knows how to do this and this is how they destroy neighborhoods, one house at a time. The LAW is laughable down here and gives them cruiser escorts, and never knocks on their door. All they have to say is "no comprende", and they walk away! Its evidently legal down here, so everyone start tearing microwave ovens down. Of course microwaves are everywhere in the air from common products now anyway!

  • Guys, you're really crazy. Using your fluorescent lamp you could see that magnetron's ray isn't focused at all. So there isn't big difference between staying in front of emitter and at the side. And while small overheating of body is about to be safe, overheating of brain on even one degree can cause inconvertible changes.

According to safety rules that I know, you can work without special protection only on power lower than 10W. Otherwise you must operate device in shielded room without human.

  • That tingly feeling was the last of your brain cells popping.

  • WOOHOO!!!

    system of a down rules!!!

  • So... you took apart a Microwave Oven... cool, has anybody died or suffered from RF burns? Just a warning, since you guys seem... a tad in the dark when it comes to HERF and well, electronics in general. THAT CAPACITOR WILL FUCKING KILL YOU, just thought you should know. Oh, man, there are way better ways of creating HERF weapons than taking apart MOs, I do admire your spirit though, just stay safe... holyshit that's dangerous.

  • Oh we know that it could kill us...We knew how to handle all the equipment we were very careful...we spent like 3-4 hours putting that together only filed short clip of it.

  • dude onequestion, I recently saw a video about an emp gun , aparently it did had a radioactive reaction, how deangeros can be the energy( from a homemade emp gun) , I am asking this cause I am planning on building one of those

  • Well depends...We did not put a cone on it to direct the waves and how much power you put into it also depends on the strength...be carefull though HERF will have more radioactive wave going out then EMP.

  • depends

emp pulse is just like a strong magnet, it won't hurt

RF can cook you from the inside

  • But there is nothing easier than pulling a magnetron from a microwave. How would you do it?

  • I wouldn't... it's just a little to dangerous. If I were to have removed a MOT and it's Magnetron (wink), I would discharge the Cap with a High Voltage High Current pole. Then, using very thick HV gauntlets, I would take the whole thing apart.

  • Yep it is. Would test it outside. Cant even imagine how far the rays would travel.

Pulsing a magnetron would kill it if the energy is to high.

I would try creating short EMP via exploding-wires.

  • Hmm, Messed up time on the watch, just like in UFO abductions.

Oh yeah, take in mass doses of antioxidants to prevent cancer. Don't wait till you get cancer, do it now. Blueberries (& others) are really high in antioxidants

  • well, the magnetron antenna outputs a hemisphere of energy, and even at just a few feet away the intensity is so low that you don't have to worry about hurting yourself; however, if all that energy is guided in a single direction, the intensity becomes much greater in that direction and the danger increases. also, while the 120vac primary could shock you nicely and the hv bits could lay you out, you'd have to try really hard to get killed by any of the electrical bits.

  • If boys are going to do ridiculously stupid and dangerous shit, I prefer they do ridiculously stupid and dangerous *cool* shit. And we all know there's no stopping boys from doing stupid and dangerous shit. So rock on, crazy motherfuckers.

  • Was that a compliment or telling us to do other stupid shit...We have done worse, Just not filmed it.

  • @Darksplinter82 ç

    start filimg then.

  • Yea, watch out for those "microweaves" or they'll ecome "defectiv" bro.

  • IDIOTS dont you know that your kidney's can get to hot from strong Microweaves ??? They were a man working in the near from a defectiv microweave and died because his kidney burnt after time like a hamburger.

  • Yay! You lit up a florescent bulb with RF energy. You can do the same thing with a wimpy CB radio.

  • Well Yea...You do know what HERF stands for right.

  • Well I don't take advice from people who can't spell or put a proper sentence .together, Come back when you learn English.

  • Do more research or better yet stop altogether. You need to build a horn antenna to direct the wave. I built one with three capacitors and a directional horn antenna. I could fry cds from 6 feet away and light up tubes at ten feet. You are playing with current that is lethal and it is NOT to be underestimated. I recommend you stop because you are not using adequate safety measures. Just my opinion but it will save a life

  • we were bored one day... not really an ongoing project

  • (I think in this case it's the volts that are going to kill him) but he obviously displays he is dangerously unqualified because he's WEARING A WATCH while playing with that wiring. NEVER wear jewelry or watches when working around any electrical equipment. As for the radiation you are going to damage your organs or vision before you even feel it.

  • Hope you didn't plan on having kids... Be careful!

  • ya know that the government has created microwave weapons... are they going to sterilize masses of people?

  • Ya we are building one before we turn that on again.

  • becarful it's very dangerous on 180°, you must build a deflector
