The only three scenes I care to watch from this final season are this one, Locke realizing what's going on in the hospital with Jack, and Vincent lying down next to Jack so he doesn't die alone. Other than that... disappointing.
I love how this show always connects to some earlier moment. When I saw this scene and heard Desmond and Sayid talk, yes it was a great scene in itself, then I realize Sayid helps Desmond get in touch with Penny on the freighter in season 4! What a rich tapestry of interwoven stories lost is, it completely captures the pain, confusion, and eternal hope of being a human being in the 20th century.
Poor Des he looked so pitiful down there by himself.
Kinda cool that Des was the one to un-zombify Sayid. Also, what was up with zombie Sayid's somewhat more British accent? It changed after the others killed him and stayed that way the rest of the season for some reason.

@tinaUNDAcova Naveen Andrews who plays Sayid is originally from the U.K. My guess is that he figured out it was the last season and got really lazy putting on his old accent lol.
@forked109 Yeah, I knew he was British in real life, and I could easily see Naveen thinking "F*ck it" since it was the end. But the weird thing was that it was almost instant the minute he came back to life it was different then when he was bleeding out earlier in the episode.
My friend said that it might have been a way to establish that it "wasn't exactly Sayid" which I guess could be a good explanation.
I just watched the scene from "The Constant" where Sayid helps Desmond connect to Penny, then came to watch this one. It's really nice how they fit together--Sayid helped bring Desmond back to himself, or bring his consciousness together. And then here, Desmond makes Sayid more himself again, and gets him out from NotLocke's influence, by talking to him. It's very appropriate, I think. Just my little observation. :-) I knew all along that he hadn't really killed Desmond.
@marycatherine0608 Because hes scared. He's trying to do everything to leave the island but all the candidates ( jin, sun, jack, sawyer, sayid ) needs to die first. It wont happen :D
This scene is why i love this show so much because through all of the scfi & the mythology of the island at the heart of this show it is about these characters
Side note i think Jacob is talking through Desmond here we say in this episode Smokey said the person had to be dead for him to turn into them but i think it is different for Jacob i don't think the person has to be dead & he don't have to make up a new form he can just speak through them & i think the Last Recruit is Sayid here Desmond finally woke him up
Look at Desmond here.... all he has is his words and god damn they are fuckin beautiful.... love this scene... Desmond is the man.... also my favorite character by far

Two guys talking for one minute becomes a deep and heart-wrenching scene. Only Lost could do that.

Don't think it's on the sountrack, but it's a variation of Lafleur from Season 5.

Desmond you are unbelievable. You alway's rules.

One of the most memorable things about Season Four were Desmond and Sayid on that freighter. They had few scenes, but it was still excellent.
So, I'm genuinely sad to see Zombie Sayid and Epiphany Desmond confront each other like that. I hope Sayid redeemed himself by letting Des go free.
