lmao is it me or does japan have all the worst catastrophes??? godzilla, the most recent erthquake, the nuclear reactor thingy, tsunamis, and apperently this too since we clearly see it being destroyed first by the crater
2:35 there wouldn't be water in the Thames. They use this song on most destruction videos I have seen, such as the 9/11 video a remix version of this song was used and on this.., geat animation though :D
@Bookstop1337 It got blown out from the force of the impact and the heat that the lava made would evapourate it and this overdramatic sequence showing how quick the heat came across and the ice melting quickly the water would be. Well, at least not in that manner
Simple solution - create a system of early detection and tracking devices on the grounds and in orbit so we can locate any threatening asteroids and, if necessary, use our 50 year stockpile of nuclear weapons to deflect them.
The whole network would cost less than a year of military deployment in Iraq.
By all means, expand on why not. Many astrologists agree that the best course of action would be to deflect an incoming asteroid rather than trying to blow it up altogether. They also understand that we have the missile technology and warheads to do the job, but more resources need to be spent on tracking these objects.
If that's not a good solution, what would yours be?
@cashcleaner They have entire specials on asteroid solutions. I'm sure there are some on here. The biggest problem is the smaller, faster ones can still be devices of mass extinction, but are difficult to find and track because of their size and speed. Hitting them with nukes could create a buckshot effect, potentially making it worse. It's been awhile since I watched the show on this topic, but the best idea seemed to be attaching solar sails of some sort and pulling it out of trajectory.
Yeah, I've seen a few of them and there are pretty interesting. The solar sails idea is theoretical and sounds cool, but I just have to wonder if a system like that would end up working when you factor in all the moving parts and components that could malfunction.
I also like the plan to fire a high-energy laser from Earth or satellites in orbit that heat up one spot and allow very small bits to break up over time because of it.
@cashcleaner I forgot about the laser idea. That was a good one too. I think there is a large one that is going to pass around 2030 and they are watching to make sure it doesn't hit the "gravitational keyhole"
That being said Japan wouldn't get peeled up like that, and the effect on the oceans would leave earth looking more like Venus. Oh, and the city at the beginning - we would have had plenty of warning. That city should be in complete chaos - though the plumes of smoke would distract from the point of the video, I know.
its so interesting!maybe this kind of things can erase the earth into the planet's have life.but no one can predict how the earth's gonna end except our god!
I've seen this Discovery Channel video several times, and to several soundtracks. I think this one is the best so far, the timing is perfect. Good Job.
dont be affraid of the dead anyway you will die a day so profite of your life all time you can i have a familly i can die any tume its not important im happy! so all person said omg its scary thats just the end of humankind that's not gravelly its just another cycle of the life! sorry for my bad english!
@LexiPopuli that can not be possible due to to many people we could not save everyone we could not save our human race.. Earth this made for humans and if we leave we could not last on such a planet as mars due to the so called cold and no atmosphere...
how stupid are those people and you to fuckin let us know about this doom day??? How is it going to help us? prepare for it? all you poster have a fuckin stupid mind... you really do... ME I'M NOT SCARE OF DEATH. plus i don't believe this bull shit, if it happen it should happen already, especially in the year 2000 and all that shit mellenium, oh when the clock hit 12.00am new year is going to end??? but other people that are watching feel scared why tell the whole world and get them sad?
ahhh So easy What we need to do is about to Send Alot of nukes and Hydrogen Bombs Then Kaboom to that Comet :3 Earth= Live forever ! well until i am old and die ofc i don't wanna feel flame pain :-(
@PanicSunday We're not talking an extinction event, that would have a chance of Earth recovering. This is more like sterilization, leaving nothing behind except maybe some heat loving microbes deep inside the Earth. We'd be lucky if life even got past the point of bacteria, as it takes a billion or so years to get it started. By then, the sun would already be getting too hot. So no not a good thing lol. Earth would be finished for good. Nothing more than a bacteria encrusted rock.
Excellent video work. Except that the earth would split like a squashed grape and would take millions of years (billions?) to regain it's shape, and except for the fact that the earth's water vapour would be ejected into space leaving earth permanently barren (like Mars can't now get it's water back ((except what's frozen under the surface- different water loss reason-)). I'd like to see the ejecta layer in the rock strata to prove the "6 times before" claim.
Those mother fucking assholes in the white house and at the tops of other governments that caused all the fighting over the years are going to be the ones safe at bunkers at the bottom of the ocean or in spaceships evacuating earth.
I am saying that this video is meant to bring us together. But the people breaking us apart (political and religious leaders) have bunkers that they can escape to incase of a disaster, such as a nuclear war or asteroid.
Why do the evil people get safety? Shouldn't the innocent civilians of the earth have it instead!
yes quite possible, you clearly have no idea of what the real world is like. Your name has 98 in it... were you born in 1998? Cause then you would be about 11 years old, and that would make sense.
We send people to the space station, why wouldn't our leaders save themselves by going there? They would. And everyone already knws the president has secret bunkers in which he will go in case of nuclear war.
For one, that is the year the I graduated HS, and 2002 is when I graduated from college. Do the math. Also, pointing out my age to disqualify what I say is an ad hominem logical fallacy. For two, where is the evidence that there are sub oceanic bunkers that the elites would retreat to in the event of a an asteroid? How many people could survive in the closed system of a space station and for how long? Think your claims through before you post.
And its not an ad hom, I was simply looking for a logical reason why your brain functions like a 10 year old's.
Anyway, it is common knowledge that leader's have bunkers.... I was just saying oceanic because that makes sense. And you are foolish to speak of "the closed system of a space station" to someone currently studying astronomy in college. You should learn about the Apollo 13 moon mission and find out just how "hard" it is to get oxygen in space.
More ad hominem? Insults reveal ones intellectual inferiority. You are trying to mask the fact that you do not have evidence for your claim. If it is common knowledge that there are sub oceanic bunkers fashioned by the elietes in case of a catastrophe then provide the evidence. Also you are not in college, dont like. Plus, you need more than oxygen to survive. Please, think about what you are going to say before you say it. Take a few weeks to think about your response before you respond.
Lol I like how the islands get "sucked up" by the impact despite the fact that island are merely like tips of the iceberg with miles upon miles of tectonic plate beneath them...
The human destructiveness affects more the living species on earth than the earth itself. Earth can survive from our destructiveness. It has the ability to be revitalized. We can not. We are destroying ourselves and we dont understand it.
It seems that when most people talk about "destroying Earth," they mean "destroying life on Earth." Earth is a rock; it will "survive" (i.e., continue to exist) even if it's a lifeless wasteland.
Anyway, I love this song. It's basically about atheistic/antitheistic anarchist-communism, which suits me down to the ground.
Sent this to a friend of mine, who replied with: "Well so what's the point of not being destructive when the Earth's going to get destroyed anyways?" He later added: "Stop worrying so much about politics and shit; live life before the asteroid hits." *sigh*
