It's pretty sad in itself that you care what genre of music someone thousands of miles away thinks a single song might be. Look up the interview since I can't link it, it's with metalzine in 2003 after he was released from prison. For future reference it's better to know what the fuck you're talking about rather than assume something for the deceased. That's just moronic.

Categorization is something a lot of music nerds do. Why? IDK, we find it fun and it can be helpful to people sometimes. There is nothing "sad and close minded" about it; if anything, you're closed-minded for needlessly bitching about someone else's harmless way of thinking. The only problem with categorization is when people see the categories above the actual music, and when they get into idiotic arguments about whether something is black metal or melodic black metal, or some shit like that.

I'm not at all interested in discussing how much you worship worship Storm Of The Light's Bane either, but for the record, I think it's an excellent album, and it's taken me farther into "black metal" (excuse the label there) than I ever thought I'd go.
