@sygo7g Actually...no. ^_^; Neither Maple Town nor Palm Town has seen a DVD release in Japan. Though IIRC, there is a full DVD release for one of the European versions...
back in spain we only got maple town, i never heard of any movies or a sequel, this is awesome, but disappointing at the same time. I wish toei would release palm town and maybe someone can at least sub it.
Greetings from America, seemingly the only country on the face of the planet that didn't get Palm Town. ^_^; It's funny to consider that during the 80's and most of the 90's, the U.S. was a few years behind most of Europe; we didn't even get Saint Seiya (Knights of the Zodiac) until relatively recently...unfortunately, the U.S. launch of THAT was an unmitigated disaster. At least we can all talk about Dragonball Z, though, right? XD
saint seiya is my favorite anime of all time, followed by dragon ball z, did you watch gatchaman, it is a little older, from the late 70s to be exact. that show ruled, it is also known as G force, but in spain it was translated to "fuerza G, Guardianes del spacio."
I've never seen the original Gatchaman, but I did see the excellent Gatchaman '95 OVA. I'm psyched about the upcoming Tatsunoko vs. Capcom for Wii, which will have not only Gatchaman characters but also one of my personal favorites, Tekkaman Blade (a.k.a. Teknoman). I hope for your sake somebody brings it to Europe as well. ^_^
It's funny. I spent years looking for this stuff and now...vindication. ^_^ Thank God I thought to record the VHS to MPEG-2 for posterity...
XD actually i already imported tatsunok vs capcom, and let me tell you that it is the best fighter i've played this year, i mean even for a wii game, the graphics look awesome and the gameplay is easy to pick up but hard to master. Ive never seen tekkaman, but his character is an absolute beast in the game, he is also gonna get an extra version on the western release of the game.
The "extra version" is the one I mean. Back in 1995, they aired an English dub of Tekkaman Blade as "Teknoman" and it became one of my favorites. Only problem is, they stopped airing new eps after the halfway point, which serves as a combination cliffhanger and downer ending. So I've never seen the series in its entirety. T_T
You're welcome. My master plan is to one day update these with subtitles, but my Japanese listening skills aren't quite up to the task. Hopefully, one day I'll find someone who can help...
i already hate the cat brothers :P but what i nice feeling to watch tis episode i feel like i'm 4 years again thank you soo much really i wil going to tell this to all my fans of maple town( if that's ok with you of course) this was a great episode/movie (snif) thanks
Really a shame that this is the only part of Palm Town that got released on video. The opening and ending credits show a lot of characters that don't appear in the first episode.
30 eps of Maple Town, the Maple Town "movie" (which is actually a 30-minute episode), this Palm Town movie and that's it. I've heard there are Japanese-language DVDs floating around (likely bootlegs since Toei sucks), but I don't know much about them.
A-whoops. Sorry 'bout that. ^_^;
