  • draw a line vertically up from L, intersecting AT at S

    LETS is a rectange, with area twice that of TEL, ie. 28

    PL = 3PE/7

    LE = PE-PL = 4PE/7

    so PE = 7LE/4

    and area(PATE) = 7*area(LETS)/4 = 7*28/4 = 49
