  • Yeah! Very nice performance! I'd say so mild and sweet... Good luck.

  • @zvaiska Thank you very much for stopping by and for taking the time to leave a comment. I hope you will stop by again sometime.

  • well I certainly wasn't expecting that...what a smooooooth voice you have, seriously. I'm going to check out your other songs because you sang this one so well.

  • @purplesplice Thank you very much. I have liked this song since I first heard it. I hope you will check out some of my other covers when you get a chance.......Terry

  • @terrisonb This is a great song Terry, it has special meaning for me as it was one of my mum's favourite songs and so whenever I hear it I think of her, you should put out a CD

  • AWESOME!!!

    Never heard this before.

Terry, you should fill out the 'YOU TUBE PARTNERSHIP' application. You never know.

I think, when they hear your talent, they'll say; "This guy can sing!!!"

    God bless, friend!

    Bill

  • @ginmillsinger Thanks Bill. This was sort of an unusual song for me to do but I have always liked it. I am not sure what the youtube partenership is. What is the purpose of it?......Terry

  • If you're accepted, as a You Tube 'Partner' your video's will get 'promoted,' and you'll be financially compensated. There's one other way to make money on You Tube. It's called; 'Monetization.' The only 'hitch' is, you must get permission, from the copyright owner, 'if' you sing 'their' song's. Many song's aren't actively 'protected.' Some folk's, open separate channel's, with song's that are in the public domain, original's, or have permission. There's nothing to lose. :c)

  • @ginmillsinger Sounds like I probably shouldn't rock the boat, ha. When I view my videos on "My Videos" page about 95% of them have the words "matched third party content" after them. So I guess I am lucky that they have left them all up at this point. Between the song writers, the publishing companies, the record labels, and the creators of the backing tracks that I use they might just have me shot as an example. Still....It would be nice to figure some way to make a buck or two, ha....Terry

  • That's it! It's a magic microphone! Why didn't I think of that? It makes perfect sense - how else could a person sing all these great songs so effortlessly and so perfectly?

    - Stephen

  • Terry, Your version of "Sailor" is the BEST I have heard on YouTube!!

  • @YoungAtHeart1941 Thanks Bud. This was a very different song for me to do.

  • As a Dutchman I know this song by our "neighbour" Freddy Quinn. Listening now to that velvet voice of yours in the English language, it could be one of those wonderful Jim Reeves songs. Maybe try some of his songs too? How ever, well done Pal.

    Regards, Wim.

  • @snorrewim Thank you for your very nice comments Wim. Please stop by my channel sometime and check out some of my Jim Reeves cover songs. I have several there. He is still one of my favorite singers of all time.

  • hi.. thought I'd check your version of "Sailor" out. You have a really nice warm mellow voice mate. very enjoyable.. I have microphone envy though now!! I really like that mic of yours (heheh) I need a decent mic (:))

  • @pixiepqueen Thank you Helen. I love my microphone, ha. My church bought it for me when I retired from running the sound about three years ago. I do have a very nice Electro Voice PL20 microphone package for sale on craigslist, ha. You might improve your recording quality by moving much closer to your mic and padding the area around the mic. In my tiny recording room I usually cover my desk in a rumpled blanket and I also open the closet door and hang a king sized blanket over the door.

  • @pixiepqueen By the way my microphone is a 1947 RCA 74b. DJ's used these mics all over north America from 1936 till the late 1950's.

  • You have done a terrific job here, especially considering the key is meant for a female singer. Well done! Added to favourites :)

  • What a great voice. Get writing your own songs, You would be a hit in the UK

  • Just amazing Terry! What an excellent version of this great song. Many thanks for this and for adding my cover in your info. That was really kind of you. Enjoy the weekend and take care. Hugs..Jan (and Susan) ♥

  • Hi terry, firstly thank you for stopping by my channel and commenting so nicely on some of my uploads, secondly and probably more importantly I just feel I have to comment on your unbelievable voice, it's truly beautiful, kinda gives me goosebumps and there is really not that many voices that can do that to me, amazing.

    Very best wishes,

    Del :)

  • I have to correct you Lolita was and still is from Austria (like another famous "german" :-)

    Great version

Would be even greater if you sang it in the original language.

    Maybe next time

  • @deutschmaerchen You are correct. I knew that, I am not sure why I didn't say it that way to begin with. I corrected the "text" but of course I can't really correct the mistake in the audio. Thanks very much for listening. I hope you will stop by again sometime. As for singing it in German, I'm afraid I have a hard enough time singing in English....the language I speak, ha.

  • @terrisonb

You do not have to speak a language to sing one song in that language?! Little children in Germany (east and West) sing or sang in english, russian, italian, french little songs without the knowledge of the language in the Kindergarten - maybe only one chorus and not perfect - but I am sure you do better. I bet you have a cute accent :-)

Don't be afraid. All other nations have to use english almost all the time when they visit youtube :-) and it is not their native language

    Greetings

  • This song has been one of our family favourites for many years. You have done a great cover here Terry. Thanks for sharing ***** Mike L

  • @teenyweenylightsout Thanks Mike. Seems far more people in England and in Europe are familiar with this song than here in the US.

    Greetings from Germany

    Andy

  • @hobbymucker11 Thank you Andy. You should record this song in German and maybe in English as well. I do not know how to speak German at all but since the German version by Lolita is the only version that I ever heard till a few weeks ago I kept hearing the German words in my head while I was trying to sing it in English, ha.

  • @terrisonb

Hey Terry, I will watch even if I trick the music playback anywhere and then sing in German ..... let's see if you like it ..... to be the first time .... but as good as you I do not get it down ..... you sing really great .... Respect
