I HATE contacts. But I have keratoconus and glasses won't help my vision so I have to deal with it. Putting them in is easy, it's taking them out that I can't stand.
i got my contacts yesterday, i didnt put them on with the optician, so my first try was at home. got home spend 30 mins, got really pissed, gave up. next morning, tried again, and timed it: 40 minutesl to get them both in, nearly punched a hole in the wall. never have i been so frustrated, then so happy to get them in (walked around the house for a while singing "your MY bitches now" for longer than im proud to admit). took 20 mins to get them out after....
i love my contacts. i could never live without them . keep on trying and you will get there. it only takes me one minute to put them both in . keep on trying and just take your time . you will get there and then you will love them . i wear the soft toric lenses . they last me one month and then i put in fresh ones.

You can touch your eye without hurting it. Its important to wash your hands before you do so. Take your finger an put it next to your eye an then look away from the finger an slowly touch the white part. Then start moving your eye around..not your finger. This can help get you used to the feel if your new with contacts. Once your comfortable with the feeling you could have your girl lick your eyeball...now that is something...

I managed to insert the stupid things today after a glass of wine. The trick seemed to be to hold on to the eyelid like my life depended on it. There was some skin falling of the eyelids this morning after previous days embarrassing failures.
first hold ur eyelids more steady and try not to slide them away, then look staight up, then place the lens on the lower part of ur eye, let go of ur bottom lid, then ur top then close ur a for a few secs and there u go :D

Ur looking too much up. That way your lens won't fit while you are trying to put it on your eye. And when your almost there, you are closing your eye. Lol.

Hmm. I've had contacts for about 2 years now, and my finger doesn't even touch my eye (until I take them out) You just have to get it so that the tip of the lens touches your eye, and it kinda gets pulled in. Not that hard...

i would recommend using the left hand for your left hand, and right hand for your right, i think that's easier! i've been wearing them since i was ten. the worst was when i was real
wat is stupid about mine, is i have a stigmatism( prob. didnt spell tht right lol) but on my right contact lens, it has a line. you have to put it in your eye when the line is facing 6:00. So confusing.

I put mine directly on without doing the whole sliding thing but one time I forgot to cut my nails and I scratched my eye pretty badly lol it wasnt funny when it happened though.
Just pull your bottom eyelid down, and get the bottom of the contact in between the eye and that eyelid. Touch the rest of the contact to the eye, and slowly remove your finger.
Also make sure yours hands are dry (not to mention clean!)

I just got mine today, and that's what the lady told me to do after the common two hand method worked. Also, I might just be ambidextrous because after not getting the right one in, I took my left hand and got that contact in the left eye after just one try.
It sucks but in the long run it will be better after 5-6 years of wearing glasses and not wearing good sunglasses.
Yeah contacts are torture. I remember that in the ancient days whaen torture methodes were popular in Europe, people would make other people (the torture victims) put contacts in.

It does get easier as you do it more and more. You just have to teach your brain not to follow its instinct/reflex and close your eye when you're approaching a finger to it. I've been wearing them for a few weeks now, and I can put each one in with less than 3 tries (about 3 minutes in all).

I use a different technique.Hold your lense on the VERY CENTER of your finger and put it right on the center of your eye. (make shure the lense is slightly moisted with saline solution right before you put it in).Very gently touch your eye. so the lense just barely sticks on it.Then close your eye softly and blink a few times.
lol u think thats bad i was at work and my hands were all dirty then my eyes start to itch, i never remember i got contacts on so i rub then with my sleeve, then my boss says URE CONTACT FELL OUT" it was on my cheek and i had to put it back in without a mirror and with dirty hands, dont worry i had a plan i ran to the sink i and watered down my eye and the contact stayed, IM a Hero !!11! haha that was funny. I had my contacts moved to the back of my eyes when the became too dry at a couple of instances. That can happen. I'm not making it up, so be warned. It takes a couple of hours if you're lucky before they automatically find their way to the front of the eyes again when it occurs.
I just got mine yesterday, sucked major putting them in. But after a while you sorta get the hang of it. Holding my eye lids to keep from blinking is probably the hardest part for me.
I was told to put my head down and look up into a mirror that's on the table. That way your eye is up and you can still see yourself.
Only had mine two days and had a bit of trouble getting one out yesterday which made my eye sore so I haven't used them today. I will try again tomorrow.

yayan93: No, the muscles surrounding the eye prevent it going behind the eye. It can stick to the back of the eyelid but if you gently massage the eyelid it soon comes unstuck. I have been wearing contacts for 13 years now - wouldn't be without them.

lol u think thats bad i was at work and my hands were all dirty then my eyes start to itch, i never remember i got contacts on so i rub then with my sleeve, then my boss says URE CONTACT FELL OUT" it was on my cheek and i had to put it back in without a mirror and with dirty hands, dont worry i had a plan i ran to the sink i and watered down my eye and the contact stayed, IM a Hero !!11! WOOT

haha that was funny. I had my contacts moved to the back of my eyes when the became too dry at a couple of instances. That can happen. I'm not making it up, so be warned. It takes a couple of hours if you're lucky before they automatically find their way to the front of the eyes again when it occurs.

I just got mine yesterday, sucked major putting them in. But after a while you sorta get the hang of it. Holding my eye lids to keep from blinking is probably the hardest part for me.

I was told to put my head down and look up into a mirror that's on the table. That way your eye is up and you can still see yourself.
Only had mine two days and had a bit of trouble getting one out yesterday which made my eye sore so I haven't used them today. I will try again tomorrow.

well, now i dont blink, iono i just got used to it, but sometimes it wont go in, so i literally push my eyeball back. Doesnt hurt just feels wierd

It helps if you use one hand to pull your eyelashes on your upper lid up so your eyelid won't close and mess everything up.

yayan93: No, the muscles surrounding the eye prevent it going behind the eye. It can stick to the back of the eyelid but if you gently massage the eyelid it soon comes unstuck. I have been wearing contacts for 13 years now - wouldn't be without them.

I'm 12 and I just wore them like a month ago. 2 Hours? My first time was 20 mins. I do the same he/she told you to do. Now it takes what? 3 minutes. I was going to give up on them. But i got used to them. OMGosh!! It's that hard ot put your contacts in?? WoW.I dont even touch my eyeball putting them in. I just wait for it to stick to my eye. WoW.

it's hard, just practice... i try to look up and put the contact on the bottom white part of my eye. good luck it will get easier.
