Sorry dream but you're wrong in your interpretation. The 1790 statute written by Jefferson addresses concerns about paternity and natural born citizens. At the time they thought about what would happen if say the person was born on a ship or overseas. The statute does not require the father to be a citizen but rather only a resident. What it does say is a child born of a citizen is considered to be natural born.

The 2nd Donofrio case that the Supreme Court is also having a conference on (it's not garbage!) considers Obama's citizenship status at birth. The fact that it was revoked later is of no consequence. It is the dual citizenship at birth that may mean he was not a "natural born citizen". Sorry dream but you're wrong in your interpretation. The 1790 statute written by Jefferson addresses concerns about paternity and natural born citizens. At the time they thought about what would happen if say the person was born on a ship or overseas. The statute does not require the father to be a citizen but rather only a resident. What it does say is a child born of a citizen is considered to be natural born.

Simply put, at age 21 if citizenship of kenya isn't confirmed, it's revoked, Obama lived in america long before 21, so when he didn't confirm kenyan citizenship it was automatically revoked, plus he wasn't born in kenya, the registrar of vital statistics confirmed his birth certificate. The 2nd Donofrio case that the Supreme Court is also having a conference on (it's not garbage!) considers Obama's citizenship status at birth. The fact that it was revoked later is of no consequence. It is the dual citizenship at birth that may mean he was not a "natural born citizen". The Supreme Court needs to take this 2nd Donofrio case on so that it becomes much clearer what this phrase in our Constitution means so that we can have a LEGAL President.

He was born in hawaii, and his mother was an american citizen, he was not a dual citizen at birth, or ever, really. The whole "dual citizen" myth comes from his spending 4 years in another country as a kid. That country didn't allow dual citizenship in the first place. He is a legal president, more so than mccain would have been, even. This suit and others like it are based on nothing but rumors spread by bloggers and right wing nutjobs. The supreme court shouldn't waste time debunking spin.

He was not born in Hawaii, he was born in Kenya, otherwise number 44 would have already shown proof. In Kenya, the citizenship of the father passes to the son. But, his mother married an Indonesian and renounced her US citizenship. Obama was a minor, the status of mother passes to the son. According to our immigrations laws, at 18 he could have taken the Oath of Alliance, but there are no records of that either. Number 44 is an illegal making a fool of liberals like you and the Constitution.

About the sojourn in Indonesia, a child can do anything in any country under the guardianship of one of his/her parent's passports if the parent is a citizen of that country. No need to change your child's 'citizenship' for the child to attend school. There's actualy no relation with dual citizenship laws and the child's (a minor's)sojourn with their parent(s.)
So, Obama was and still is American.

I am looking at the AP article titled "State declares Obama birth certificate genuine" on google right now.
And I quote "State officials say there's no doubt Barack Obama was born in Hawaii." Not sure it can be any clearer than that.
And why would the Hawaii Department of Health be holding Obama's birth certificate if it wasn't a Hawaiian one. Do they hold birth certificates from other states or countries? That makes no sense at all.

Day the Supreme Court chooses to hear a case that, as its primary evidenciary basis, sites Wikipedia and an "online journalist," i will die of laughter. More so than I have at the idea of you people who have OBVIOUSLY not read the case trying to defend it. It is, as the court clearly decided, on its face absurd, and the basis for the suit is legally insufficient. But you wouldn't know that. which is why this is funny.
