  • Fudge. Dude, why can't I undo the mesh extraction?? When I try to undo, it won't clear the extraction, it just added more and then undo just undoes the mask i think, though I can't be sure bc I can't see it under the extraction. HELP! Lol this is driving me crazy when I can't undo stuff. WHY??

  • boobs need to be bigger imo

  • what tool are you using to give her seams???

  • how do you get the body? did you have to create it yourself or is there a stencil thing? Im new to using zbrush

  • @MahStudMuffin Maybe you should get a copy of MakeHuman (makehuman, org) and generate your body with it, then export it to ZBrush..

  • @catafracta20 It's free, by the way..XD

  • Thank you, very helpfull.

  • Thanks this was very helpful to get me started on clothes.

  • DAT ASS

  • When I extract something it only lets me change the edges of that subtool.. any pointers as to why that might be?

  • how we do animation in zbrush

  • @OneOpinionMore I know that Sculptris is not as good as Zbrush, but my question was why I can't use it. A friend of me has Sculptris and can do anything with it, but I can't do nothing.

  • I like to learn from this, but I downloaded Sculptris and I can't use it. I can't grab, paint, nothing. Can someone plz tell me what is going on?

  • @NvH1231 sculptris is far from being the same as zbrush. what i know from sculptris is that it's purely sculpting, that's it, no extracting mesh or masking or polygroups or any of the zbrush features.

how did you get to think they are both the same?

sculptris is like the baby brother of zbrush...

  • Aww I facepalmed myself when i saw all you had to do was press extract! LOL Thanks for uploading this!

  • im using Zbrush 4 and its full version . i was trying to find way to make cloth and i watch ur tutorial it was very helpful but something went wrong for me that i cant draw on the shirt when im using brush lets say "Deco3" or any other brush to make some effects on the shirt . its only effect the edge or the shirt wish make it look so stupid . also i active the symmerty mood and im using the mask tool to draw the shirt .

  • I tried to allocate RAM under Zbrush but this didn't do anything.

  • Whenever I try to use extract mesh Zbrush freezes, is there something I can do to fix this? I have 4gb of ram and a good video card so I don't know why it is doing this.

  • @CGartist09 how many polys?

  • Awesome tutorial. Just started learning zbrush, Being an idiot i Went through a whole process of going back and forth between zbrush and maya to get a pretty horrible result. Thanks for the awesomeness.

  • for some reason I am working on a mesh but every time I start moving at times I'll be in edit mode with draw on and it just starts bring in a double of the mesh I am working on. Anyone know why it does this? Makes me want to export it out and use it in mudbox. Which I tried but then I just get subdivide errors and can't use it in there either.

  • Thank you for this video! It has helped me understand a lot! I only worked with basic modeling of objects and things before now, but I've decided to plunge into clothing. I work in Zbrush as well as Maya, and I had a feeling that creating the clothing would be easier for me in Zbrush. I am completely self taught so I had no idea where to start. But this is very helpful Thank you! And ignore the breast/slutty clothing comments. Probably a bunch of girls jealous bc they don't have boobs!

  • Ha ha. He farts at 8.25! Great tutorial, but it starts to smell like fart near the end (snicker)

  • @LillyBleh they honestly are normal sized...if u dont have anything around this ur flat as a pancake

  • I don't see anything slutty about this. I mean I can't fap off to it, can you?

  • Great tutorial man. You're to the point, yet slow enough not to gloss over the technical steps and commands. Keep up the good work.

  • That's some real skin tight clothing right there haha. Nice tutorial though.

  • nice tits lol

  • So hilarious that people are still replying to my comment i made ages ago. I am a man btw in a great relationship. I just feel that the image of women in the media and entertainment reflects a very very small portion of the women in this world. Not every woman has a perfect waste or perky double c's. I was just making an opinionated statement. I do appreciate the tutorial but I am a fervent believer in respecting the image of women as well. Didnt aim to get flamed. but hey its youtube...

  • I was 7 minutes in before I realized she didn't have a head.

  • one question:

How can I create cloth simulation with models with displacement maps in 3ds max. I know how to make cloth simulation in 3ds max using the low poly charater, but displacement makes that the cloth isn't fit to that character with a displacemnt map (which I can make in Zbrush). So I want a cloth simulation between a model textured in Zbrush and a cloth made in 3d max - is that possible.

    thanks

  • her tits arent even that big, get over yourself stupid feminist.

  • @tazbo28 What we 'need' to do is nobody's concern but our own concerning our work. To be frank, the video was never intended to be received as it has. Simply put, your presumption is an insult. If you can learn from the video, look past the fake digital body and learn.. If not, complain over videos intentionally extolling breasts.

  • @Screenwriter805 Well, I'm a girl and actually her boobs are right size, I have naturally big breasts. I see nothing wrong with this since many girls in my country are naturally big breasted. Other than that thank you for posting this I learned a lot from this video. Keep posting they are really good.

  • @Screenwriter805 oh screw the dorks, I say that as a female :)

  • @tazbo28 What a fuckwit.

  • @tazbo28 Good question

But you see, most of the men like that (I dont actually, I find it gross), they are a bunch of pervs

  • @tazbo28

shes like a B cup and your complaining about huge tits?

..your a flat chested girl aren't you?

That's the only reason I can figure that you would be complaining.

the chest on this model looks about average size.

Please keep your insecurity's away from educational videos.

  • @tazbo28

I don't find those to be anywhere near 'huge'. A simple google search of 'huge tits' will also prove you are incorrect.

and since it's off topic anyways, thanks for the tutorial, OP. Clothing is tough.

  • @tazbo28

Those are huge tits? Those are normal.

  • @tazbo28 These boobs only look like a basic C cup to me >.>

  • @tazbo28 And they ain't all that big, but maybe you like your women to look like little boys...

  • @tazbo28 lol the tits aren't huge u definitely haven't seen anime i suggest you don't watch it.

  • @tazbo28 huge tits? where? I want them

  • @tazbo28 You should leave that bubble you're in be for it pops.

  • 1:03, mkay? lol that made my day.

  • Why on earth do you guys always sculpt slutty clothing on female models.

  • @xy11xy In this case the character was literally a slutty character. I can't speak for others.

  • @xy11xy Cause our dick tells us to

  • @xy11xy you don't like it sculpt your own models... Also I'll point out if he had sculpted a male model with a V-neck you wouldn't have said shit.

  • Respond to this video... Hey, Thanks for this video. I used it and found immensely helpful.

  • @xy11xy It's not slutty your mind is in the gutter

  • GOT DAMNT I CANT WATCH PART 2 DUE TO THAT IT`S FLAGGED!?!?!? shouldnt say my real age...

  • wat version of zb is it?

  • When i extract, for reason i can not edit the extracted mesh, only the edge borders why is this, what am i doing wrong

  • @ojlsparkes The same thing happens to me. I can only edit the borders, but not the mesh itself.

  • id love to have a pdf w/steps for doing this please!

  • HEY CAN YOU SHOW HOW TO MAKE FOOTBALL HELMET

  • Ugh, when I extract i can only edit the edges of the new subtool, why?

  • @AmericanFighter1212 I had the same issue but had to figure it out myself...With your subtool selected (the thing you extracted) go to masking and click clear. You should now be good to go.

  • @drizel462 Nevermind, thanks! This helped.

  • this is awesome but how do i do it? I just got zb4 and when I make a sub model like a shirt or helmet etc I can't get it to move or sculpt why is this what am I doing wrong??? I've asked lots of zbrush users on the tube and so far have gotten no answers :(

    would you please help me??????

    thanks so much!!

  • @freakylittlegnome I had the same issue but had to figure it out myself...With your subtool selected (the thing you extracted) go to masking and click clear. You should now be good to go.

  • Bless you for making this tutorial. It has helped me get started making clothes and it is a step in the right direction. Thanks again!!!

  • Excelent tutorial, very useful stuff and enjoyable voice commentating.

    -Grateful noob

  • When i make the extraction i can only edit the edges of the cloth, if i try to work on the belly or backs i can't only on the end of the shirt like hands and neck...

    Please help me.

  • Cool video - very very handy

  • Found this very informative and like others feel as though it answered a lot of my questions. On to the next lesson to see if I can further along my clothing.!!!

  • 2:30 that's what I came for...

  • very helpful, answered a lot of questions I had :)

  • whenever i try to extract, the program just crashes. Am I doing something wrong?

  • @GuestOfGregoryHouse greetings friend! It could be a memory issue. Have you adjusted the RAM allocation?

  • @Screenwriter805 hi :D i had a question, did u get your base model body from somewhere, that would make my life soooo much easier if i could find a model like that i could just build off of

  • @GuestOfGregoryHouse i tried it with the soldier model you get given and it crashed but when i used the dog model it worked fine

  • @GuestOfGregoryHouse That use to happen to me, I was inverting the mask. Just mask, and use extract.

  • ace dude continue i learnt more from you than i did from my crap teachers!

  • you are so funny man! Keep up the funny commentary sh*t! Go with the flow. =D

  • lol the first female zbrush character i see^^

  • good tutorial. thanks!

  • hey

can any one help me with a simple project.

its to do with merging to body part like the head and a body like how screen writer has the bust with no head.how would go about attaching the head so this it look authenticly merge with the other topology of the bust.

  • This is how I've done it before, to attach it seamlessly I'm not quite sure but i hope this helps a bit.

  • @Mrgamerification

thks for the input this matter

  • Great tut..thanks sooo much.

One question...when i go to unwrap the thing..it seems like it have polys on the inside as well as outside...is this because i made it too thick..? or am I missing some setting?

  • Great Tutorial!

    Thank You!

  • Great tutorial, it was clearly explained unlike alot of them. This will help me with my Uni project.

  • its a very good tutorial man! i would rate it 5 if i could :/

  • we are all gay for zbrush

  • How do you do this when you got a low-poly model? =/

I am trying to make some armor for a game. I exported the in-game body, buuut .... the armor looks like some kinky shizzle - due to the low polys ....

or perhaps I shouldn't do this to make armor for games? ....

  • as long as the topology is correct and the exporting method is correct you shouldn't have any problem with any part of your model, especially if it's low poly, as most game engines like low poly geometry. Can you explain the process you use a bit, and I may be able to troubleshoot based on that.

  • Well, I am making a piece of armor for the game. So I exported the file into max, then into an .OBJ. And opened it in max. I think for the whole body it is about 6k polygons.

So I press CTRL and start painting around the wanted area. But when make it an armour something odd happens ... if I only could show a picture. Well, the armor is not "whole". Parts of it are clipping and etc, etc.

    Really hard to explain ...

  • what version is this

  • Can you give a newbee, using version 2, any help on creating clothing for a character? Thanks.

  • My best advice would be to upgrade to 3.1 when you can, then these videos will be of use to you. :)

  • Awesomeness. Just wish the ranking would have been activated. I would have given it a 5.

  • I have to go back and enable ratings for the older videos, only the newer ones are ratable.

Thanks very much for the gesture though!

  • thanks much, SOOO helpful.

  • love it you got my sub

  • Can you show how to make a dress?

  • I can see what I can do. Go ahead and message me to remind me and I can work on that for you when I am able :)

  • Very helpful ! I have had hard time making nice clothing.

  • u know what when ever i have a question on how to make somthing in Zbrush i always run a search and its always your videos that help me thanx a lot now i can make some awesome creases in my model

  • sorry for the late reply! I'm glad I could assist you in learning, my friend!

  • Did you make that model start to finish in zbrush, or did you export it from a program like 3ds and then refine it? i'm having trouble making models look that good starting in zbrush. D:

  • I use 3ds MAX for the basic model, then take it into Zbrush. This is not always the case, but That is usually how I work. Sometimes I'll do Zsphere models completely, but I usually like to animate the character, so I need a good topology from the start, plus it helps with material mapping.

If you are having trouble, you may want to look into some external programs for creating human meshes. There's a few out there, though they create very dense meshes. I think MakeHuman is going to do low poly.

  • Another great Tutorial. Nice work Men.

  • Nice tut...thanks

  • I'm glad I could help you guys!

  • Thats it! God bless you man!!!! Thanks a lot! Cheers

  • Anytime friend! Glad I could help!
