Das ist nun mal die Folge der Globalisierung.Und dass Industriestaaten wie eben DE Menschen anziehen und ihnen eine bessere Perspektive bieten ist nichts neues! Özil oder auch die anderen Sportler mit Migrationshintergrund könten sich in ihrer alter Heimat nicht so entfalten wie in DE. Trotzdem sollte man sich Sorgen über die Zukunft im Fussball machen. Man kann jetzt schon erahnen dass z.B. Katar Spieler einkaufen wird,was wesentlich schlimmer ist
Özil is a brilliant football player. That's the only point that counts. So I don't give a fuck that he plays for Germany... But on the other hand I am pretty glad that Germany was his first choice. We have a lot of young and talented german-turkish players like Aycicek, Emre Can, Koray Günter, Okan Aydin and so on (Born and raised in Germany!). Probably, a few of them will join the Turkish team. Then everybody is happy... :D

Das wäre anders gewesen hätte Österreich damals schon zur EU gehört. Und somit hatte ich nichtmal die Wahl ob ich Deutscher sein möchte. Nicht alle deutschen Staatsangehörigen sind ethnisch Deutsche. Özil hat die deutsche Staatsangehörigkeit ist ethnisch aber Türke. Ich habe die deutsche Staatsangehörigkeit und bin ethnisch Deutsche. Jeder der die deutsche Staatsangehörigkeit besitzt, darf für die deutsche Fussballnationalmannschaft spielen. Das wird in anderen Ländern auch so gehandhabt.

Ozil's parents weren't born in Germany. Also the thing about choosing the German national team over Turkey's, is because Turkish officials never called or talked to Ozil during the selection process. Germany's Löw spent serious time to get Ozil for Germany. And he did succeed at the end. Great job
