@fishingkayakphil The Trident is way too big of a kayak for me, it sits high on water and drift too fast on a slightest of wind. I have since sold the Trident two months after I bought it.
I didn't realize it is that different from the prowler 15. I was considering upgrading from my prowler 15 to a trident 15 (mostly cause of the rod pod). I have seen both kayaks and the look the same, surprised the difference in performance is that big.
I saw a baby one about 16 inches In Del Mar 17th street! it looked like a black fish at first, It was super cool. And i went snorkeling in la jolla and saw like 20
i was just down there in la jolla yesterday. took the kayak tour..snorkeling..and swam with those leopard sharks..it was amazingly fun. cant wait to do it again.
Maybe you should do some research because you don't know much about fishing and shark populations, and I qoute:
"the status of the leopard shark off California is regarded as secure, with demographic models estimating an annual population increase of 3–6% with sustainable fishing"
Leopard shark fishing is regulated, one leopard shark can give birth to 30+ sharks in one season, and their population is increasing despite being fished for food and the aquarium trade, look it up
Go to the South end ot La Jolla Beach untill you get to the boat launch. You would find the sharks in big groups from 10 feet of water. Also look for a bunch of swimmer in the area who are also looking for sharks.
they are harmless bottom-feeding sharks. their personalities are similar to that of pigeons...meaning if you try to get close to one...it'll swim away.
ANY shark can bite, when felt threatened. Doesn't happen ALL the time...but....it DOES happen. I dunno, just looked like there were some "youngins" in the water as well.
they have the same mouths as stingrays[bottom feeders]. and, by that logic...pretty much ANYTHING with a mouth can bite...i've been swimming in the la jolla area for 4 years and have only been bitten once...and that was by a 7 inch fish...and that's only because i had food in my hand.[the fish meant no harm]
the only way one of these sharks can really bite you, is if you forcibly put your foot inside it's mouth.
You're welcome. Remember with that bullet cam you still going to need a means of video recorder like mini camcorder, external mic and remote control (LANC). Then you will need a water proof box to protect your camcorder. So make sure to do you're research before you buy. If you still need help to really get a complete set up let me know.
Nice. Only difference between you and me is when I drop my line, the leopards will all disappear and dog fish/shark will take the line. BTW, thanks for the tip on the underwater camera. Hopfully, I'd buy one soon/
how do you like the trident compared the the prowler 15?
