best place used to be in the bridge pool till they altered it the water used to run along the far bank near the electric board place the point off the island where the gravel is used to hold loads of em,now the far bank opposite the electric board place is very good also further down from the leccky board where the river shallows off theys a number of islands all yer need is a double handed salmon rod lead core line some trebles and away yer go been caught meself 100s of times over the years
the best place to catch salmon on the tyne at the tyne green is spital pool just on the other side of the bus shelter half way down the golf course thts where 2009's best salmon on the tyne was cought a belief it was 27 pounds pretty big fish actuly am goin there but to fly fish in 2 hours woop woop beta catch summit lol
