Does anybody have any idea why the new Triumph Bonnevilles are refered to as T100s when the old school 650 and 750 Bonnevilles were refered to as T120s and T140s and the old T100 was always a 500 and never refered to as a Bonneville? Having owned many different pre- Bloor Triumphs in the past I have a hard time accepting the new Triumphs as real Triumphs.... they just don't quite capture the spirit of an old Triumph, the engine cases on the new twins just look bulbus and awkward.
my Dad and Granddad raced and sold Triumphs check this out it's my Dad on his 1948 Twin on the 1954 "You Asked For It" segment used on the History Channel youtube.com/watch?v=ief7aG1nVUQ
Rode to Skeggy last week on my Bonneville T100 met a couple of riders on the way one on a GSXR 650 and kept with him all the way, the rider said he was so impressed with the Bonnie he wanted 1. I absoloutely love my Bonneville and wouldnt part with it for anything
No mention of the great Edward Turner who made Triumph the legend amongst British bikes and whose styling cues the new Triumph twins have taken...shame !!

@1BSARoadRocket Because as you know the Number Designation on Triumphs refers to it's top speed
100mph 120mph 140mph ect
If you take a look at the "New" T100 Bonneville it's top rated to 100mph (160km/h)
It has nothing to do with Engine Size

It's great to see the Mr. Bloor and his management team embracing the history of the Marque. They are doing a great job continuing the tradition.
