As of right now we are standing for the MTA service cuts because they already happpened and theres nothing we can do about it but accept it and move on. ESPECIALLY those ppl who use the Port Washington branch of LIRR. MTA cut like 40% of their trains on weekdays and weekends! i took a gander at the schedule and it makes sense for those cuts to have been made. Staten Islanders are constantly getting fucked.

If we drive to Manhattan, staying within city limits and taking the shortest route, we get hit with a $5 toll at the Battery Tunnel, then when we leave we get hit with another $5 at the tunnel, then to get back on our island, we have to pay $10 for the Verazzano. So if we drive to Manhattan and back, thats $20!!! ridiculous.

A 3 cent hike in gas taxes should be done State wide. Money would go to transit systems in areas raised. 5 dollar Tolls should be put on Harlem and East river bridges. All money should go to the mta. 10 percent of thois money should go to pork for each city council district and state senate and assembly districts in order to yes votes. Air will be a lot cleaner, because of less driving. 1 percent payroll tax state wide. All money would go to each mass transit in areas raised. No fare hikes.

I"m aganst your idea for fare increases every year. You said they should go up 8 percent every year for 3 years. Fares have went up 30 percent already since 2002. Mta should not raise fares or cut services. Nyc Comtrollers plan to increase registration fees should be done but at lower rates. 30 for a small car. 60 for a midsize car. 90 for a big cars, Vans, Trucks, Suvs, Pickups. It should be done state wide. All funds from this would go to transit systems in areas raised.

What the heck are you talking about. You want service cuts. Mta needs to be adding service not decreasing it.

You're quite generous with raising taxes only on those earning over $500k. I say halve that amount, but provide deductions for college, mortgage, and medical payments. Medicaid is perhaps the biggest local tax burden. Reform is needed there, and your proposals for cutting waste at the MTA are spot on. This stuff happens every time Wall St tanks as NY relies heavily on tax revenues for budgeting from that source.

We ned medicaid. Should have a health care system similar to Canadas where everyone is covered. I"m for raising State taxes 3 percent for people making over 500,000. People making 250.000 to 500,000 their taxes should go up 1 and a half percent. 200,000 to 250,000 stay the same. Under 200,000 a half a percent tax decrease. Mta should get all the subsudys back that wher taken off from Gov Pataki and Guliani. The federal gov should replace subsudys taken off by Reagon, Bush the father and W Bush.
