  • This video reminds me of people showing off there grow set up. Lol

I like the set up kid. Good job.

  • Where can you get a water bottle like that?

  • @richieshuck I don't have that water bottle anymore. I think I got it from petsmat.

  • ya thats what i was thinking... they eat most friuts and veggies in the morning so i think thats what ill do..

  • ok but about grating the veggies but when do i do it? I dont think i should do it in the morning because i leave for school for 7 hours and i read that you cant keep moist foods for more than and hour or two.... should i do it after i get home from school?

  • @birdlover121314 I'm not sure. Maximo gets really upset if I don't give him his veggies in the morning. Maybe just give him enough to last a few bites?

  • i just recently started putting him on pellets, and he doesn't eat them unless i hand feed them to him. how else can i get him to eat those?

  • @birdlover121314 Try crushing them.

  • Ya i give all parrots more veggies than fruits, but moe just eats the fruits and ignores the veggies. the only veggies he likes are beans and dried corn. Is there anything you can put on them to make them more tempting? i can try the shredding thing.... if im feeding him pellets i still need to feed him produce right?

  • @birdlover121314 Correct. Pellets don't contain all the vitamins birds need. Its more of a supplement I guess you can call it.

  • Awesome! I heard that most orange friuts and veggies have vitamin A... and calcium i know egg shells do and birds can eat them... My sun conure prefers fruits over veggies and so how do i get him to eat veggies? Ive tried entwining them around the bars of the cage but he just wont budge...

  • @birdlover121314 Fruits contain more sugar which is why I don't feed it that much. And yes, egg shells too. I boil eggs and feed it to Maximo with the shell on and everything. For promise I crush it with a fork. Maybe try shredding it with a cheese grater and mixing it with seeds so every time he gets the seeds he gets some of the veggies. Thats what I do with Promise. You can also try eating it in front of him.

  • also what friuts and veggies contain vitamin a and calcium... i dont think my birds are getting enough.

  • @birdlover121314 Cooked sweet potato or cantaloupe for vitamin A and spinach for calcium.

  • ya i dont use it in their water but you can...

  • ya i just got some more... you add a few drops and soak watever needs cleaning if its toys/perches/food and water dishes and it works great! you can also add a few drops to their water and it acts as a great source of vitamins. it also works in a spray bottle for poop etc

  • @birdlover121314 I don't like to add things to my birds water as bacteria grows faster and the bird may not drink the water. Its easier just to give him fruits and veggies that contain the vitamins already ;)

  • its a large conure.... what do you mean office mat? also i use grapefriut seed extract for disinfecting and cleaning along with a poop off made for birds solution witch comes with a hard bristle scrub brush which works really well... :)

  • @birdlover121314 The mats you place in offices so the chair rolls easier. I use that so he doesn't poop on the carpet. I never heard of the grapefruit seed extract? I don't like using poop off as I have heard some birds get sick from it. So I just stick with the vinegar/water solution.

  • hey how do you make your solution? how much water how much vinegar? also how often do you clean his cage? what do you even use the cleaning solution for? thanks i have a parrot and im just asking for tips and tricks...

  • @birdlover121314 What kind of parrot? Fill up the spray bottle with half vinegar and half water. I clean his cage everyday as the dust from the poop and feathers can be harmful to them. Also, I don't want the veggies he drops on the bottom of the cage to rot and attract flys. I use the cleaner for the grate, bottom tray, toys, perches, pretty much anything that needs it. His cage is different now it has a office matt infront so I use it for that too.

  • where did you get your cage? i like it :) also what cleaning solution do you use, what do you feed him and what do you keep in the box underneath? also you might wanna think about getting a different perch because the plan dowels can cause artharitis so it is better to get a more uneven/different leved perch made out of wood that looks like it came from a tree. just an idea tho..

  • @birdlover121314 I got it from the place I bought my macaw. Yes I know about the dowels he never used it, it was there for more of a 'space filler' but he does not have that in his cage anymore. I use a vinegar and water solution, I believe I mentioned that in the video. I keep news paper, extra links and o-rings for toys making and some other stuff.

  • @birdlover121314 I feed him organic pellets and fresh produce daily.

  • beautiful big cage. :) I'm getting a macaw soon but it is very hard to find a (nice) cage even half the size of this in Australia. :(

  • @becaro0nie You might want to consider ordering from here in the US. There are many stores that will ship to Australia such as mysafebirdstore. com or trueloveaviary. com. Or you can join a forum called Avian Avenue and there are some members from Australia they might be able to help you.

  • In your opinion, would this cage setup work for a galah cockatoo?

  • @twilightpony223 Definitely!

  • That cage is for african grey dude!

  • @Parrotstation This cage is not for an african grey? This is a macaw cage. I think the bar spacing might be to big for a grey.

  • This is good, I currently have two cockatoos. But I always wanted a macaw. Did you buy him from a pet store and how much did he cost?

  • @tna570 We got him from a breeder. And I dont remember.

  • Good stuff. I have that green rubber toy with the bell in it too for my quaker parrot and he loves it. Very nice bird! Im trying to save up for a sfrican frey but i keep buying more stuff for my birds. Lol

  • @007Knives Yeah. Maximo some how managed to get the bell/chain out of the ball. So it doesn't hang anymore. And I know how that feels! Im trying to save for a new cage for Maximo but I keep spending it on the birds!

  • I like the cage You have. I looked at one recently about that size. I am hoping to get a Green Wing Macaw in the future and that cage. Should you put 2 birds together in the same cage?

  • @shalamar07 If you put 2 birds together it can be very risky. And you would need a really big cage. I wouldn't do it if I were you.

  • Thanks for the info. I have a larger cage. Wish mine were this size but I know larger is better. The thing is that I can't fit it through the doors to get to another room. Anyway, I do like your setup. Thanks for the info!!!!

  • @shalamar07 I am currently trying to save up for a new bigger cage. Kind of hard when your not old enough for a job. But this cage isn't small so he is ok with having it for a few more months. And he gets tons of out of cage time :) And no prob.

  • Is it hard to keep a macaw? and do they require a lot of time? and at night do they make noises and do they let you sleep?

Sorry for asking a lot of questions its because im intrested to get one and im not sure how it is to keep one.

    Thanks.

  • @bilaremix They do require ALOT of time. It isnt hard for the right person. At night (around 9pm) I turn all the lights off where I keep my macaw and cover his cage with an old blanket and he just falls asleep. They are very quiet at night and you should not make noises when they sleep. I would saw a macaw should have atleast 3hrs of playtime/handaling out of the cage everyday. But it is best if they get more time out of the cage handaling and such. Hope that helps.

  • i am prowd of you for useing a water bottle good job! and nice CAGE set up!

  • @BIRDANGAL Thank you :D

  • Very nice!

  • @RectangularBird Thank you
