for anything like this you should really be using vestax or else some numarks with straight arm. personally i dont see any use for 1200s but the little regular mixing i do can go fine on pdx 2000 and for scratching vestax is just a blessing. however most places have 1200s setup so if you go around working clubs its a bit different from what you're used to.

heh, always the same battle... Since we won´t get further on with this: Use what you want. I´ve seen djs doing stuff on technics as well as on the pdx. I - for myself - use the pmc 07 and 2 pdx 2k.

To each their own. As for me, I've been using my 1200's without an issue for a few years now. And have many friends that have used them for 15+ years. They are reliable, they are built to last. For a mixer, I am using a Rane TTM56. Its a great Mixer. But it dont matter what you use. The decks wont make you a great DJ. Rock what you got and practice everyday.

Everyone bangs on about that 2001 set. Plus One was technically amazing but until the Still #1 routine it was very non musical and unaudible to any non-turntablists. I think DJ Klever deserved Gold for that year. Overall though DJ Kentaro is the best ever along with DJ Skully.

djvantage93: build quality is great, the faders are fairly good imo, the only downside is a 2-band EQ (which isn't as bad as you'd think) and the sound quality, which is average. For a battle DJ it fares well, but as a mix DJ myself it's not amazing, but that's the beauty of it I found... there's no limiting on the channels, no compensation... there's no forgiveness so it forces good practice upon you, which makes you better in the long run
