Ok, I'm sorry to rain on the parade here, but that tube can't possible be active. To start, I'm not buying that the light in the cavity there is from the tube, it's not at all characteristic of a 12AX7, and on top of that, I'm not buying that the tube is running off the actual circuitry of the pedal. DoublePlow is right, tubes take significantly more voltage to run than a Boss can supply. Look at the Barber Tube driver: it has an independent power supply! No. Not buying this AT ALL.

I dont like it. How much Voltage are you sending to the tube? Tubes need high voltage. The only time I have heard anything like this that sounds good is when the tube is getting way more voltage than 9 volts

i dont like it it has a 12ax7 but theres some pedals w that sounds better and without a tube for example tubescreamer ts808 or tsd9 those one sounds better w transistors than vacumm tubes.

What voltage does the tube / pedal run on? Can you use a regular power supply with it?

That is a pretty sweet looking mod. A little fragile looking considering the small pedal, but good nonetheless. The sound at 0:40 is the best in my opinion I think.

@thetampanboys don't you need about at least 270 volts on the plates at least.

@rickysatriani absolutely very low voltage the minimum would be 140 or 160 dc also the heaters need to run at 6.3 volts. as a electronics engineer I think 12ax7s and ef86s are great for pedals and preamps we are looking for tons of gain not plate starvation the good thing about this is the tube will never go bad and also tube swapping would be pointless.
