Verse 2:106 is understood to mean that whenever there is a contradiction in the Quran, the verse that was "revealed" later takes precedence. Sura 9, the last revealed, therefore abrogates (cancels) all the earlier peaceful verses, including the ones you quote, which are from a Meccan sura. Verses such as 9:5, 9:29 and 8:39 make clear the true position. Look them up.

The documentation for the information that I am offering in this piece is found in one of Islam's classical reference books in the Arabic language. Verse 2:106 is understood to mean that whenever there is a contradiction in the Quran, the verse that was "revealed" later takes precedence. Sura 9, the last revealed, therefore abrogates (cancels) all the earlier peaceful verses, including the ones you quote, which are from a Meccan sura. Verses such as 9:5, 9:29 and 8:39 make clear the true position. Look them up.
