I get goose bumps every time I hear this song. And people say Florida does not produce great Gospel. Marion was born in M.I.A (Miami) , Florida. That's whats up!
Marion Williams IS My Favorite Singer.........there is NOOOOO one better!!!!!!
Actually Marion's version on her first album, also titled "Somebody Bigger Than You and I," is my favorite. Not as virtuosic as this one but a bit more soulful. At least to these ears. You should try to hear that album, the first one she cut after leaving Clara. She does a house-wrecking "Packin' Up" and her first hit on her own, "Holy Ghost Don't Leave Me." Plus a gospel blues, "The Lord Only knows (How I Made It Through)" that should have been dedicated to Gertrude and Clara.
You're entitled. lol. I love this version better, personally. Being a music teacher, I love this one because of the vocal versatility of both marion and the stars of faith. And I haven't reached the level yet that I determine who sings something more soulful and who doesn't.
That soprano in the back better SAAANG. I hear you girl and Marion Williams. That voice oh god!
