Federer played like an angry beast here. Probably underestimated Djokovic in 08 Aussie rather than the illness. Take no excuse. Coming from 2007 and 4 years dominance i can understand the tour is belong to him and beating opponents is a less fun thing to do.
@Crosby4hyg What are you talking about? Djokovic is one of the classier players around, if he gets angry on court he's angry at himself and doesn't aim anything verbally at his opponent, and he's always quick to applaud a particularly good shot from his opponent.
They should have showed a replay of what happened. but basically Fed hit the ball straight down (on his side of the court) and the ball bounced over after, and just for fun pretended for a sec that the ball was still in play
Djokovic is boring! Blames everything else except himself when he loses...also,his game is just boring too.He thinks he's funny with some of his games and jokes, but he look like an ass most of the time! Federer should've whipped this ass off the court!!!!!
@MIMIC8801 It was because Djokovic was a complete douche to Roddick the match before that the crowd was so pro-Federer. Also because Roger is just so much more entertaining to watch than Djokovic.
and Federer had quite a bad year, people feared his decline, so everybody was so happy to see him back at his best level of play.
I think the crowd will be pro-federer in 2011 too, for the same reasons. Nobody wants Federer to be on his decline, this would be a huge loss for tennis
Yeah right. I've never seen Federer tired, he seems to have limitless stamina, kinda like Nadal. But don't count out Youzhny, I wouldn't be totally surprised if he beats Nadal.
@TrolloftheTube 1st of all....Youzhny beating Nadal???? Are u kidding me? And Federer surely did get tired at the AO 2009, Wimbledon 2008 so if he goes 5 sets against Nadal he wont be able to survive!
Youzhny has beaten Nadal 4 times, one of those at the US open. I'm just saying, all the last times people were expecting a Rafa v Roger final, someone surprised Nadal and beat him out in the Semis. So I find it hard to believe in the dude at the moment, honestly.
@TrolloftheTube Yea...I doubt that's going to happen though. Federer raped Soderling in straight sets last night so I don't think Djoko has much of a chance.
But, you see, I'm afraid it'll be a whoopin' like that French Open Final a couple years ago. And I just don't believe Federer can beat Nadal anymore. Especially with his mental block.
@terminator8338 I like Fed's game (not really a fan), but this year I am really not sure about his chance of peaking, the situation is nothing like 2008, where basically everyone believes they can blew fed off thee court. Besides Murray and Nadal, especially Nadal, are more hungary foe US Open title than anyone else. Good luck for fed and nadal
@terminator8338 Federer loves the fast hard court at the US Open, not more than he loves the grass at Wimbledon, but I think the US Open is his 2nd best surface. I mean he won 5-times straight there, and his performance is always up in the pre-US Open events like Cincinnati Masters, although his game obviously isn't the same as in 2003-2007, but he's still heads above most players. He's beating players in their 20s who are supposed to be in their prime.
Yeah, Roger basically ruined what could've been multi slam winning careers of Nalbandian, Roddick, Hewitt, Safin. But the bright side is that we get to watch him win 16 slams FEDEX delivered at AO10
What are you talking about? This match is at the US Open. Do you follow tennis at all? Federer defeated Djokovic 3 years in a row at the US Open. Final @ 2007, SF @ 2008 and SF @ 2009. The only Grand Slam Roger has lost to Novak is Australian Open @ 2008...
'what are you talking about, do you even follow tennis' - Wow, so agressive :) Feddie's little ballboy. What kind of complexes are you fixing on youtube? Actually, spare me, I don't care.
For the last time, I'm aware that I made a mistake, and hence, I wrote: - you're right, I misread -. I was watching a video from AO 2008 right before this and wrote too quickly. You are correct, you are better person. There. Feel better? Happy? Chill out, and Fed-off.
What has last year got to do with anything? forgive me but i thought playing in the year your in, really matters! Am sure Djok will be amazing next year, but now, surely is the the best time to play it. And thats with no analysis. do excuse me but i thought your reply was funny. I'm very excited at what 2010 tennis will be? good health. drstew
Am sure Djokovic, has improved since last year. But Rf just seems to a just his game to who ever he's playing. I just watched him beat Djokovic again at this years us open semi in 3 straight sets. he didn't even seem to sweat and so beautiful to watch!
ur dumb, djokovic was a million times better last year, everyone knows he's been in a slump this year, he played shit in this years semi, like he couldnt be bothered. dont u pay attention to tennis before u analyse it??
"Oh, its great beating Roddick, you know this is supposed to be his tournament and everything (arrogant sneer)...thank you to the NOVAK fans, I know there weren't many of you...he said I have 16 injuries that's not nice"
Djokobitch is an arrogant toerag who is content with sneering at the service motions of other pros, but when said pros make the occasional jest about him, he gets into a hissy fit. Glad Roger cleaned his clock, I was SO rooting for him in this match.

Federer denied Djokovic in the US open three times from 2007 to 2009
Nadal beat Djokovic three times in Roland Garros from 2006 to 2008
you cant help but wonder how much better djokovic's slam records would have been otherwise
