My father bought the La Paloma tape cassette which he used to play on his Philips N2205, back in the early seventies in Mairiporã, São Paulo... this delicious version of Aquarela do Brasil was and is among my favorites, but in fact the entire album is a joy to ears and soul... thanks so much for uploading.
Billy Vaughn is marvellous and unforgetable. We, brazilians, are grateful to Billy for his "Brazil" ("Aquarela do Brasil") rendition. However, there is a Billy Vaughn pretty track that is forgotten: It is "Everybody's twistin' down in Mexico". It played in Brazil very well, in 1962, I think, but, unfortunately it isn't re-released in Billy Vaughn albums. Can someone post it? I will be grateful eternally.
Hi Dynasonic51 that was the same year, same age just a different stereo ( we got a Knight stereo) that I got hooked on Billy Vaughn. Now? almost the same age as my late father and still enjoying it. Rare for young kids nowadays to enjoy this kind of music
In 1962 my dad got some Billy Vaughn LPs and a Grundig stereo. Made 3 reel-to-reel tapes, and got me hooked on Billy Vaughn. I was 12. In 1981 after writing to Vaughn, who lived in Bowling Green, KY at the time, invited me to sit in on drums when he was playing at a club there.I never got the chance, but I sure do love his music after all these years! Thanks!
Billy Vaughn's album "La Paloma" was probably the biggest seller he had in Latin and South America. This is just one of the many great cuts on the lp.....I believe the lp is on CD.
Billy didn't do any bad ones, I loved his band always.
