I LOVED the Northern Pikes when I was a kid. Hopes Go Astray is still one of my favorite all time songs, and Snow in June was a great LP, but this new song is SERIOUSLY weak....for a band trying to make a comeback, this is NOT the song to do it with.
Don't judge the new material by this song. There are a lot of great tracks on the "It's a Good Life" CD. This track is feels like they wrote a "fun" song to celebrate that they are older (hopefully wiser) and playing together for fun this time around.
The Northern Pikes kind of like Canada's Beatles.

Hopefully it's not indicative of their new stuff - I love the Pikes though, so I'll make sure I give 'em a chance.
