I have recently been introduced to Vernard Johnson by an Anointed saxophonist from NFNY named Vernon James. "The Saxman" he was inspired by Vernard when he started blowing. Vernard autographed a cd for him. Both their sounds are raw but controlled. A very gospel saxophone sound. Listening to both Vernard and Vernon's video's is truly a blessing. What an gift! Very Anointed. I love both their music and interpretation, phasing and sound....Amen!

I believe I have his first album? my brother bought his album back in the early 70's.He bought it because he himself plays the saxophone.Great upload.
I would love to attend a church that just had a fat jam waiting for me each and every time I went.
